Ao Kao White Sand Beach Resort

Fantastic hotel. Stunning beauty, super friendly staff, magnificent beach. The area is quiet and super relaxing. Feels so luxurious, but is very affordable given the standard. The beach front villas are literally five meters from the beach. All in all, probably the best place I have stayed ever, factoring into in quality vs price.

The hotel offers you to rent a scooter very cheaply, if you want to explore the island and try cafes, restaurants etc. Traffic is very calm.

It’s hard to believe that there are still places in the world offering value like this . The location is fantastic, even when full it’s quiet , good sandy clean beach , excellent breakfast included if you book direct taken looking onto the ocean - you are actually sat over it . Amazing friendly helpful staff , good food even good coffee in the morning.
Great value massage and scooters, WiFi everywhere you go , good connection.
We stayed in beachfront Sunset Villa - worth the extra if available. We loved No 2 , but 1,3 & 5 good .
Koh Mak is reminiscent of being in Thailand 25+ years ago and shows no sign of changing anytime soon .

Loving the hospitality and everything here. We stayed here for a night and we received a warmed welcome from the staff after they were trying to contact us to pick us up from the pier to the hotel. They welcomed us with sweet, cool, fresh coconut. Very nice clean beach and available table tennis was a bonus. Breakfast buffet was on point!

I’d recommend anyone to come here! Ever though it was abit hard to find without having a clear sign of the hotel for the entry.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, always available for everything and the service was beyond expectation. If we come back to Koh Mak we will for sure come back here

Couldn’t choose better for my stay here ! Coming initially for 3 days, we extended. We change bungalows because the one we had was booked but both bungalows are really nice, the one in the garden more bigger than beachfront.
Both upstairs are really cool! Of course the one located in beach front is better because of the view but the one in the garden have better furniture, which is cool for enjoying the evening… less wind also.

Price is really good for what you get and the services also. Coworking space available, lot of activities (tennis, ping pong, kawak, yoga….).
Very friendly staff and super helpful.

Restaurant & breakfast buffet are really nice. + tasty bbq in the evening.

Beautiful location… very quite and peaceful.

We stayed here for 6 nights. They serve a great breakfast with cappuccino or espresso. The staff is super friendly . A special thanks to Nat and the lady working at the restaurant/bar.

We recently stayed at Ao Kao Resort for six nights and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Koh Mak. The staff was all very friendly and helpful when it came to any of our needs such as renting a motorbike or booking boat tickets. Although the restaurants on the island aren't as close as other resorts there are multiple options within a 5-10 minute walk or short motorbike ride. The restaurant at the hotel was also very good. The breakfast buffet was great and the night we ate dinner at the resort the BBQ was delicious.

Koh Mak is a beautiful island- stayed for 4 nights and would and could spend longer here. The resort is well located; spacious rooms have a nice rooftop to enjoy the evenings. Shower pressure a little weak- but maybe good for conservation. Good options for breakfast and the staff also run the pizza restaurant nearby (also a great breakfast place at the top of the road); the hotel staff are a highlight- a warm and friendly family.
Koh Mak Divers are round the corner and run a very good snorkelling trip to the nearby marine park - sensational water scenery.

Highly Recommended. We were picked up directly from the ferry. We had a house with a roof terrace for 4 days. Perfect room service. Great restaurant. Super nice service. Nice walks possible. Nice pool, perfect beach. No wishes remained unfulfilled. Thanks to the team.

We stayed at the beautiful Ao Kao White Sand Beach for 4 days and loved every single moment! This hotel is incredible, it is such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
The staff is excellent and the hotel has everything you need for a perfect vacation! The beach is beautiful, the bungalows are very clean, big and perfect! We love the cool rooftop, which ever bungalow has. The breakfast buffet is the best one we ever had in Thailand and Koh Mak is our new favorite island 💜
We will be back for sure and can highly recommend this great hotel to everyone!

Ao Kao (White Sand Beach) is a beautiful beach front resort, with stunning banglows; alongside a pristine white beach which stretches far along the coast. It is a place to unwind and grasp the beauty of Koh Mak sunsets on the rooftop bar. Masseuses are also located right in the centre of the resort, open air. There is also a sports club with tennis, badminton, table tennis and basketball right next door and for those that cannot leave work behind there is a building dedicated specificly as a open workspace. The location is perfect and the people are wonderful. My stay on Koh Mak has always been exceptional, and Ao Kao makes the experiance that much more. Being a very popular resort on the island, I would say book fast and book longer, as it is likely you will not want to leave

Beautiful bungalows, friendly staff, great food and reasonable prices. Lots of veggie choices on the menu and plenty to do in the area. The beach is nice, but there is limited room right at the resort, especially when the tide is in.

Number one is the biggest Bungalow the most private with the most, best Ocean View. We were in number 3 which is the largest. this Bungalow is incredible, the finish inside is awesome. The restaurant is wonderful, the menu is huge. The owner, the manager and the staff are very beautiful and very wonderful people.

Really lovely resort with great service. Relaxed restaurant with decent Thai and Western food. Can rent motorbike, bicycle or golf cart to get around the island. Right on the beach, so be prepared for some beautiful dawns and sunsets

Can't complain at anything. Family owned and extremely helpful staff. Great food and drinks and overall service. Rooms looks like the homepage and really good. Calm place but not the best beach for swimming. Go here

This place is a small paradise. Delicious food, massive rooms with stunning views and super professional staff that takes good care of you. The manager Mr Kochain is very helpful and friendly. It is one of the best locations on Koh Mak. We stayed over 2 weeks. We fully recommend Ao Kao!
