This is an ancient Roman city that is well maintained and well designed to spend a half to one full day at.

You walk through some Roman ruins, then walk into an old market area where you can buy snacks, drinks, and souvenirs.
Next is the sea and some green area, and one can take a boat ride here or sit in a cafe or restaurant for a bite.
Next is more Roman ruins, and finally you walk through a path with the sea on one side and houses and boutique hotels on the other side.

The place overall is well-served with ample paid parking, restaurants, cafes, and shops. Most of the place is accessed for free, but the museums incur an entrance fee.

Ruins of Roman Theatre are the most precious of the whole ancient city (you have to buy the tickets to get there, but it's worth it). Overall the territory of the city is big. Getting there from all parts of Side is very easy.

In addition to the numerous Greek cities that have a rich history, I must say that Side is equally remarkable. From the moment you enter the old town, you'll be captivated by its ancient beauty. I'd also like to commend the city's efficient transportation arrangements.

A beautiful modern town created in the place of an ancient city. If you can add a couple of extra days in your Turkey itinerary, please spend that time here in this small but picturesque town full of energy as well as calmness. You can book a hotel and stay in the hotels inside, roam around, shop, do water sports, sun bathe, relax on the beaches, swim in the sea, have great food and wine in the restaurants.

A great place to visit.

Take the land train into the town from the entrance and back up for just 50c or equivalent in Lira.

Plenty of shops, bars and cafés

Great historical place to visit and see.

Very flat so also great for the elderly if there are any 👍

I would advise allowing 4-5 hours to see and do everything.

It doesn't take long to see everything but it's a fantastic experience.
It costs about £7 each so very cheap for a visitor attraction these days...
Ps look out for the wee Foxes they have a Den in the rocks at the top right hand side as you walk into the amphitheatre.

Awesome old city. Well preserved with great potential to be excavated and updated. It is visible they did massive work to rebuild the whole streets and city parts and I can only imagine what it will look like in 5 or 10 years.

Felt so blessed to be able to visit such an ancient and important part of ancient mankind! This city is amazing. The roman ruins could be seen through glass panels on the ground. Every house still had the original foundation. There were wonderful shops that came with beautiful views.
