Lake Çıldır

Çıldır Lake is a freshwater lake located between Ardahan and Kars provinces in the Eastern Anatolia Region. The surface area of ​​the lake is 123 square kilometers.
Çıldır Lake is the second largest lake in the Eastern Anatolia Region. The deepest point of the lake is 42 meters.
The lake largely freezes over during the winter months. During this period, activities such as ice skating, sleighing and fishing can be done on the lake.
Çıldır Lake is one of the important tourism destinations of Kars.

How to get to Çıldır Lake?
To go to Çıldır Lake by private vehicle, you need to go to Çıldır district from Kars or Ardahan provinces. The lake is located in the center of Çıldır district.
To go to Çıldır Lake by public transportation, you can take the buses from Kars or Ardahan city center to Çıldır district. Buses go to Çıldır district.

Beautiful lake which you have to visit if you're in Kars. It's so tranquil, peaceful and beautiful.

Come during winter when the lake is frozen and you can ride a horse cart on the lake.

There's also a few restaurants around the lake that serves fried fish. My family and I loved our time here and look forward to visiting it again next year.

Very scenic and beautiful lake. We went in Summer and looks like had the whole place to ourselves.

I have never seen the lake completely frozen. I tried riding carriage touring on the lake. You can ride snow mobile and ice skating. I didn't have time to try, but there is a fishing tour, you can make a hole on the frozen lake and fishing. I really enjoyed this amazing nature here !

Good lake that froze in the winter, the weather was nice when I visited the lake in September.
There is a picnic and camping area that overlooking the lake.
The roads around the lake is a heaven to drive-in-picturesque-places lovers!

It’s the best place to visit around kars. I took day trip for Kars Castle, Cildlir Lake, and Ani Ruins. In my opinion this is the best.

If you go to the place, find a good restaurant instead of using this as direction. The map location is not accurate.

Its better to find good restaurants, and you can book horse sleighs for 100 TL

Sledging on the frozen lake was a great experience (50 Lira per person). There was mulled wine (75 Lira) and herbal tea served in a tent on the ice afterwards. Everyone was friendly and the horses seemed healthy and well looked after. They took professional photographs and a video from a drone. These were a little pricey but purchasing them was optional and the price was open to bargaining.

This lake region is perfect activity in winter. Horse riding and fish hunting on the frozen lake. I offer this activity also in winter. In summer there are some restaurants.bear lake you can eat original lake fishes. All the best.

If you need to make meditation 🧘‍♀ you should go there, but for sure you should be aware that you can to go to çıldır gölü in two ways the old one that will take you to the lake side that everyone knows on the left hand from the road, and the other one on the right hand will take you to where i went to make meditation when there is no crowd.

I went here whit my many friends but like it here so nice palace and fresh weather and then for winter different for summer different atmosphere if you are around here Easternmost of the East you should visit here .
