Stone Town Cafe

My sister and I travelled to Zanzibar together, and Stone Town Cafe was a highlight of the trip! If you are looking for authentic service, delicious food and perfect location, look no further. This is it.

The beds were comfortable and had good mosquito nets. The staff went out of their way for us to make us feel welcome.

There was seriously good coffee, some of the best we had on the trip. Great location as well! Could walk to most places.

We had breakfast here. The coffee and the masala milk tea where very rich in flavour. The mango juice was nice and fresh. We ordered avocado toast, scrambled eggs with toast, toast with jam and fruit with yogurt & granola. Which where all nicely served and tasted good. For me personal the portion size was a bit small.. But my table mates said for them the portion size was alright. Overall a nice place to sit and enjoy your breakfast for a reasonable price.

I had steak, although I ordered it medium done, it was honestly too thin a slice to make a difference, but it tasted really nice. The coconut "mchuzi" was delectable, felt like licking that bowl clean! Veggies were nicely softened too.

Not expensive and food is quite good. The hibiscus drink was awesome, especially for those of us that don't like sugary drinks.

All in all, nice place, good rates and really friendly staff.

Amazing little quaint location for breakfast! Their toasted coconut bread is a must try and pairs perfectly with the masala milk tea! Lovely ladies work their and the spot is very cute and quiet for it’s location in the heart of Stone Town!

Food is great! We ordered the octopus curry, and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Highly recommended.

Stone Town Cafe is one of the most recommended places in Stone Town, and there is a good reason for that: their food is good, the staff is friendly and the place is charming and comfortable. I recommend the Swahili Octopus curry with rice, it is to die for.

Pretty sweet place. Loved the ambience. Calm & easy. Dining here was super relaxing. Went for breakfast with my grandad & got the scramble eggs & crepes. It was reasonably good. Service was excellent. Bathrooms were clean & location is excellent. I recommend this place!!

This is a neat little cafe in the middle of the Stone Town. The service was very fast and the taste was so good. If you are taking the Stone Town tour and tired then definitely do visit them. They have only less options but they are great.

We had the following and the rating is based on taste
El Greko pizza -5/5 - must try
Sticky date pudding with warm caramel sauce-5/5 - must try
Coconut bread - 4/5 - it was quite different and the taste of butter with coconut was so surprising.
Passion juice - 3.8/5
Masala chai - 4.2/5

Overall must try dishes would be El Greko and Date pudding. The interesting thing in the pizza was the pumpkin. Never thought about the idea of pumpkin on the pizza. The taste was so damn good. I still remember the taste of it.

Overall a great experience and the ambiance was peaceful and calm. Do visit them without fail

Great place for breakfast! Coffee is delicious and the food is simple and yum. Plenty of gluten free options if you ask for no toast/muesli.

We came for breakfast. Very good coffee (try the spicy one) and big portions (had the Spanish omelette with toast and the Zanzibar crepes). Good prices, we've always paid around 30000TSZ for 2

Great place, the best to stay in Stone Town! The rooms are really comfortable and the service cannot be better, thanks to them I have enjoyed a lot! And the food is really delicious, the terrace is a nice meeting point even for people who live in the town. Indeed the best option!

It is a nice place with nice staff that is ready to help. Food is tasty! Service is formula 1 speed (for zanzibar). We recommend it

I passed by this place so many times while walking around Stone Town and made a mental note to return, and I'm so glad I did.

Definitely try the quesadillas, octopus in coconut curry, and their famous date cake in caramel sauce. Just do it.

Also, the staff work very fast, very efficiently, and overall so friendly. The host was also attentive and kind.

One of the hidden gems! Glad we managed to pay a visit. We love their squid and tuna! Nice place to chill and hangout.

This cafe is a gem! Their staff is very friendly and helpful! Their food is also reasonably priced and really good. I went there for lunch and breakfast! Would definitely recommend them on your visit to Stonetown!

One of the very few cafe in Stone Town with NO crazy tourists prices! The staff is nice and the food is great! Highly recommended!
