Karabai Villa

Fantastic villa in a very nice area of Zanzibar. The villa sits on a waterfront cliff with fantastic ocean views. Rooms have very generous areas and the furniture is very nice. The living room has 2 comfortable areas. The swimming pool is good size and very clean. Stairs provide access to the beach from the swimming pool and the area is just gorgeous.

Ali and the ladies took very good care of us! The villa was cleaned everyday and both breakfast and dinner were very well prepared and served.

We also found the villa to be very safe and quiet, with some good restaurants and hotels nearby.

We will definitely go back!

We had a phenomenal Vacation in this Villa.
It‘s so relaxing, the house is amazing and the view is just outstanding. The street that leads to the Villa is a little bit rocky^^ but it‘s not a big deal.
The most mentionable aspect is the wholesome team, that surrounds you. Big Thank You to all of you!!!

While in search for a vacation home to spend the Christmas holidays, we were VERY lucky to have come across Karabai Villas.

The villa was spacious, private, secluded (but close enough to get to your supplies from a nearby supermarket or local markets), had all the amenities we needed (especially with two toddlers) and most importantly gave us a relaxing vacation that we just needed after a crazy year. We had access to a beautiful ocean via a private staircase and a private pool overlooking the breathtaking ocean view. We had the pleasure of enjoying the view during meal times on the patio! The patio had enough space for the adults to socialise and the kids to run up and down into the garden. We basically did not need to leave the villa throughout our stay except to get a few supplies.

We happened to arrive after dark and were welcomed by the house manager- Ali, Latifa & Jenny- who made sure we felt as comfortable as possible in our rooms and Chef Kundi- who had prepared us a feast of fresh seafood!

From the next morning onwards, every meal was freshly prepared and served according to our demanding dietary requests, our rooms were ready ANYTIME of the day we chose to relax & unwind and to top it all off, we were asked every evening if all was in order!

If you are thinking of visiting this place don’t rely on the pics, they don’t do the place justice . Its one place that we will certainly be back to without hesitation.

If you are still hesitant and only looking at this villa - forget about any other place and BOOK it now.
Villa is terrific and much better then on pictures. You get privacy! private beach , private big CLEAN pool, private 5 star hospitality from the team working in villa.
Ali - manager is there to help you with everything you need, his rates are reasonable, he is absolutely transparent and can and eager to help you with ANY request - book a tour, get food from the market, get some beer from the local store, organize meal, help with excursions, organize massage ( we tried all from that list and everything was so well planned and organized that it amazed our group).
Villa is clarkling clean and super relaxing.
Meals prepared by chef are very tasty.
Beach: High tides great for swimming, low tides are great for walking on the beach - so no matter what - you enjoy the ocean in different formats. beach has stairs from villa - meaning that NO ONE is around ( no locals, no fake massai offering you different services that can be sometimes annoying- you can enjoy the ocean and privacy).
Location: Ali can take you to any place, but if you rent a car - ask for the detailed directions - getting to villa would require to take a bumpy road, but after 3 or 4 times getting there you get used to it.
WiFi: available, maybe not the best speed one can get, but definitely best you can get in Zanzibar. might be not enough for streaming, but fore news, emails and internet surfing - more than enough.
I would recommend this villa for everyone who chooses value for money, privacy and outstanding service! Thank you! we would definitely come back!

The place is fantastic and peaceful. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is excellent. I enjoyed the panoramic view of the pool. I would love to come again.

Très belle villa magnifique notre problème ce jour des chantiers très bruyant 4 marteaux piquer pendant toute la journée autant dire que profiter du magnifique paysage est impossible. Dommage le personnel est gentil et efficace mais cela gache vraiment le tableau d ensemble.

Par où commencer ?
Procédons chronologiquement:
- le transport depuis l’aéroport est indiqué comme inclus mais il ne l’est pas il faudra compter 50€ par trajet.
- Nous avons eut la chance d’avoir un super chauffeur, avenant, compétent et toujours souriant MAIS même avec toutes ses qualités, le pauvre ne pouvait rien face au parcours du combattant qu’il faut traverser pour arriver de la route principale à la maison. Une petite route en très TRÈS mauvaise état sur laquelle nous passions 30 minutes à en avoir le mal de mer pour rentrer et sortir de la maison, sur une route correctement entretenue il faudrait à peine 5 minutes.
- le service inclus un « chef » qu’il faut payer à chaque repas 15 dollars/personne voir 25 selon le repas. À part les petits déjeuners nous avons prit tous nos repas dehors tellement la qualité des repas et même des ingrédients étaient médiocres (le matin les fruits n’ont pas de goût, au dîner les langoustes et le poulet son secs, les calamars caoutchouteux..)
- le papier toilette… ça semble dingue mais la qualité du papier toilette est tellement médiocre que nous avons dû en acheter car certaines étaient au bord de l’infection!
- le service inclus un wifi, une clé pour toute la maison qui peut accueillir jusqu’à 8 personnes: insuffisant évidement nous avant donc dû acheter des cartes sim individuelles pour 5 jours.
- la maison est très reculée (en plus du chemin impraticable et incroyablement long qui mène à la maison) et les trajets relativement chers. Il faut 1h minimum pour aller au moindre endroit intéressant de l’île.
- l’hôte: invisible ! Au sens propre comme au figuré. Elle est difficilement joignable. Ne s’est jamais sentie concernée par les soucis que nous avons rencontrés. Elle demandait même à ce que l’on passe par son staff pour lui faire remonter les informations et ensuite nous les renvoyer quand elle se donnait la peine d’en fournir.
Bref le seul point positif c’est le staff qui lui mériterait 5 étoile. Il sont incroyable, au petit soin, toujours souriants et serviables.
