Sunshine Bay Zanzibar

As I scanned through the reviews I would like to make some updates.

Now this is my first time here. The rooms have glass covers everywhere except the shower and toilets which have just mosquito mesh. So basically it is all closed now. The rooms are spacious, has perfectly working airconditions + ciling fans. Superclean and I really I like the uniqe vibe as well as all of the hotel.

The foods are amazing now. The service is great and fast. The staff is superkind.

It is like a butique hotel with very few rooms so it is not busy and crowded. You feel you are in a mini jungle at the beach. Ideal for longer trips as well és your first destination where you can unwind.

I beleive they listen to the comments and improve, so now I definetly go for max rating.

We loved the atmosphere around this small hotel. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was very fresh and tasty, considering we are in Africa (we have had much worse in other places). Coffee is instant everywhere in Tanzania, so that was a bit of a bummer. In terms of location there is absolutely nothing close by, if you want crowded beaches you should not stay here, go to Nungwi or Kendwa or any of those other tourist traps where you will be harassed any time by people selling stuff or offering other services 😏
We loved the three small pools here to refresh ourselves and went looking for shells on the private beach. There is a bus going to the beach about every hour if you want to go somewhere else and you can hire a driver to take you to the turtle pool, the prison island, the herb gardens and everything else on the island. If you want to go diving, a driver will pick you up to take you to Divepoint at the Sunshine Marine Lodge.
So if you're looking for a quiet place to relax after your safaris or whatever, this is definitely the place to go.... Really worth it! I would go right back!

A really nice, small beachfront hotel with staff that are extremely friendly. Perfect as a base for going out swimming, local tours and sightseeing trips. You can snorkel straight from the beach at medium or high tide, but the best snorkeling is at Mnemba atol (we went with Kinchangajaku Tours situated in the adjacent village who were brilliant). We went in August, and the temperature was perfect the whole way through.

Everyone can find something for themselves - you can relax by the pools or spend some time on the beach (the sunbeds are very comfortable). You can take a nice stroll to Matemwe by the beach during low tide.
The food is very tasty and the portions you get are more than enough.
The hotel can arrange various activities for you. For example you can go snorkeling or diving which I highly recommend. Everything is organized perfectly so you can enjoy the ocean and see many different kinds of fish and even dolphins!

We had such a wonderful time at sunshine bay. The food, our room, the pools and the beach was very nice! BUT the staff was AMAZING. They were so happy an lovely. Thanks to everyone!

We stayed at the hotel in the first month or so after opening, and to our amazement, everything was working out amazing. The food was excellent, the New Years eve event and the menu was really nice. The room had an amazing view, and the staff was really helpful and nice.

It's an amazing place to relax, I was more interested in the quality of internet they have there, you can do all your work peacefully without having any issue

Outstanding Environment

Just amazing

Nous avons passé 5 jours en famille dans cet hôtel très arboré, avec des chambres spacieuses, la climatisation et tout le confort.
Le personnel est très accueillant et toujours à vouloir nous rendre service : nous avons pris le bateau très tôt un matin pour voir les dauphins ils nous ont préparé la veille des "breakfast box" avec viennoiseries et fruits frais et le jour du départ nous devions partir à midi ils nous ont préparé une lunch box avec des wraps à emporter.
Vraiment cet endroit est calme , avec la piscine sur trois niveaux arborée et au bord de la plage face à l'île de mnemba près de laquelle se trouve un spot pour le snorkeling, et la visite des dauphins un peu plus loin...
Un incroyable moment !!!!
