Singita Mara River Tented Camp

You can get really spoiled staying at a Singita property. Upon arriving we were welcomed by a very enthusiastic Emmanuel, who would be our guide for the next 3 days. He always made sure we had everything we needed in the trekking vehicles, from sparkling water to extra sandwiches to snacks. You can really tell he is passionate about his work. Emmanuel is still new to the job so he relied on the other guides for animal sightings.

The staff at the camp were all very friendly and always tried to accomodate our needs. We asked for Chinese food for one dinner and even though it wasn't the best, we were happy that they still tried. Local Swahili food was served for the other meals and they were all very delicious.

Our butler Charles was also very accomodating. He cleaned our rooms efficiently and washed our laundry with care. Even on the last day that we were leaving, while we were having breakfast, he still made our beds for us!

One time we found a giant lizard hanging on our tents and we called the camp reception for help. The chef came running to help us with the situation! We even joked if we're having lizard soup for dinner!

Singita's efforts into integrating with the locals is to be well applauded. The staff are all well trained and carry the brand well.

There is luxury and then there is this Singita lodge. Unlike anything I have ever experienced. I used to think I had to choose between relaxation and adventure, but this place changes everything. If you can, come here. And the food is better than anything I have eaten in the past five years coming from San Francisco.

Outstanding location. Fantastic service and great food. Overall a great experience. We went to see the great migration and this place did not disappoint. (Go at the right time). First day three river crossings. Last day watched one while having breakfast at the camp.

The place was clean and modern. Food was well prepared and presented. If anything the rooms/ tents where a little small compared to other camps but much better decor.

Staff was friendly. Most were from Tanzania. It was fun to get to know and learn more about them. We had a dedicated butler, Fabian, that made sure we had anything and everything we needed. He was great and We had no issues doing the stay.

Jeremiah, our guide was outstanding. I’m not sure how he did it but he showed us everything we asked for and more! In many cases he found it first and once we had our time he shared with the other guides and the swarm of trucks began just as we were leaving.

Everyone was great and here some other that took care of us: Betty, Jackie, & Hamsai.

Highly recommend and we would return.

Out of all the singita properties this is the most remote. Tents are sensational and more than you could ever ask for. Setting is right along side the river. Eating dinner and breakfast looking at the views is insane.
