We are so lucky we had Abdi for the Stone town tour! He is very friendly and knows everything about history, politics, religion.... He helped us with all of our requests and took us to the best coffee place with a beautiful view and amazing coffee! Book Abdi for any tour he is covering in Zanzibar, you are in safe hands...really. Abdi was a super guide. We arrived at Zanzibar on the morning of December 25th and we decided on the spot to take a tour of Stone town. He was ready in no time. He took us for a quick, but very comprehensive, 2-hours tour of the town. He also helped us with the phone sim card.

I did two trips with Abdi. First day I went to Prison Island and Stone Town. Abdi told me the history of these places by relating a lot of interesting details about how they were built and by whom.

Next day, I visited Jozani forest and the Mangrove forest. Here, I found out more about different species of plants and trees: which diseases are cured by each of them. I have also seen the friendly Columbus monkeys.
In the end, Abdi learned me how to plant my mangrove tree. I hope the tree will grow big and healthy.

I have attached a few pics from both trips. However, the reality is better than photos.

Therefore, I recommend from the bottom of my heart the guided tours with Abdi. I spent 2 amazing days with him.

Abdi and his team went above and beyond for my son and i on our trip to zanzibar. from before we arrived from the states, he was in constant communication and helped to facilitate and plan an itinerary. as an owner and blogger for a travel valet service in the US, i was very impressed with how organized Abdi's tours were set up despite unforeseen changes. we ended up canceling other tours and stayed with Abdi and his driver for all 3 days we were there. hanging out with Abdi was a vibe, and he was extremely knowledgeable and knew all the places to be. he knew about all the history and stories behind the places we visited, and we were even able to bring food and goods to a local village with the help of Abdi and his driver, which was the highlight of our trip. the excursions were gorgeous and the food prepared for us was absolutely delicious and freshly cooked, while all the while playing the best reggae and afro beats to set the mood! my pre-teen had some moments that were a struggle and Abdi didn't hesitate to take time to mentor him and talk to him about the importance of having a positive attitude, and for that i'm forever grateful. i would highly recommend Abdi and his team for multiple day tours and excursions or for hiring a private tour guide! we're at the airport and missing Abdi and his team already! can't wait to come back!
