The Residence Zanzibar

We stayed 4 nights in Residence Zanzibar and enjoyed it very much.
The beach is fabulous, the garden is huge, nice and well maintained.
The villa is spacious, comfortable, very good quality, we enjoyed the XL size shower. Cleanliness is impeccable.
We found the golf cart service extremely helpful and appreciated the bikes.
The personnel is very friendly and helpful, both room and restaurant service is outstanding.
Highly recommended.

We rang in the New Year and spent five beautiful nights in a luxury pool villa at The Residence. It was a perfect way to unwind after a multi-week safari in Tanzania. The food was diverse, first-class, and better than expected - especially the New Years Eve buffet on the beach unlike anything we’ve experienced. The staff was friendly. We took advantage of the excursions, including a Stone Town tour, and a dolphin swim. There were some challenges with excursions being overbooked and the pricing is steep relative to what you can find on TripAdvisor, but the convenience of arranging through the hotel and departures from the beautiful pier make it worth it. We'd suggest reserving excursions early on arrival. Other highlights for us were the glass infinity pool, kayaks, spa, bike rides around the beautiful property, and monkeys everywhere. If beach swimming is your thing, you’ll need to time the tides. For us it was early morning or late evening ocean swimming and pools during the day. At low tide, the beach was not usable, but as we understand it, that is the case almost everywhere in Zanzibar. Kudos to the team at The Residence for a great finish to our trip!

Loved everything about The residence - it gives you the feeling of a boutique hotel and the ocean villas have a lot of privacy and give you direct access to the beach.

Everyone is super friendly and ready to help whenever needed.

The road can be a bit bumpy but really nothing to be scared of.

The food is really tasty and the personnel really takes care to get feedback on its quality.

I went with my friends to Zanzibar, but this hotel would be perfectttt for couples! I would definitely go again with my partner.
The rooms are spacious, the private pool is beautiful and the public pool is amazing.

I love this place! The best place of Zanzibar.

I came here for my birthday, the staff were very thoughtful and they prepared a lot for my BD. They prepared a large cake for me, and a beautiful villa with decorations. The room is spacious, clean and quiet. The staff, they are all helpful, passionate and thoughtful. Every detail is just perfect.
I even want to have my honeymoon here!

The food is great, we tried both of the restaurants and they were all good. We played tennis, and the court/rackets are good.

Just love the time spent here, highly recommend!

The residence was a sweet conclusion of our 2-week trip in Tanzania and Zanzibar.
The room was clean, the food was great and the location was superb.

We had an amazing stay here. The food was excellent, and the chef went out of his way to accommodate my food allergies and vegan diet. I ate way too much each night because the food was just so delicious.

We had a beachfront cottage with a gorgeous view and our own pool. Our own lounge chairs on the beach and another set on the deck of our cottage.

The resort is really spread out, but in front of our cottage were two bikes for us to use during our stay. We also had the option of being taxied on a golf cart.

We were on our honeymoon, so one night, we returned from dinner to find our room had been decorated with a trail of flowers leading to a hot bubble bath with flowers throughout the bubbles.

The location is a bit of a drive but worth it. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is magical! Once you get past the very bumpy dirt road, you enter a world of luxury and relaxation. The villas are large and beautifully appointed. The private pool was spotless, and the bathtub is big enough for 2 people.

The staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I want to say a big thank you to Franklin for checking us in and being quick to solve all of our problems (including locking ourselves out). I definitely want to return.

We had a wonderful relaxing time after doing 5 salaries the week before. Staff were helpful and friendly. Lots of choice for food. Having our own pool was wonderful. Just make sure you don't leave anything out unattended as the monkeys are really cheeky and if you haven't closed the sliding doors properly they CAN OPEN THEM and are not afraid. We found one on the coffee table eating the fruit that was in the bowl 😁

I'm going to do some activities like dolphin trip Safari Blue Snorkeling whate island even Stone town spice tour Prison island for good price different with hotel and I promise you will enjoy very much for the good Service that you will have

This was to end my 13 day safari in Masai Mara (Kenya), Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. It's peaceful and relaxing and you can do as much or as little as you want. The staff are kind and helpful. The place itself appears huge but all the villas are private whether you have a garden or ocean villa and they all come with their own private pools. Bicycles are provided to get around. I would highly recommend staying here either if you are on you own like myself or as a couple.

A beautiful African Island Resort with stunning villa accommodation, superb pools and fantastic staff. The whole experience enhanced with incredible food every day freshly made and buffet style to suit all preferences. This was a truly wonderful holiday and would recommend for sun, relax, pamper and eat!!
