Mbali Mbali Gombe Lodge

The Gombe lodge is unlike any other experience I’ve had. Arriving by boat, living with baboon neighbors, sleeping in comfortable tents, eating in the lodge all made for a unique and fun experience. Rama, our guide, was an incredible host and guide for us. Moses and the rest of the team made our stay in camp comfortable, and they ensured they had what we needed to enjoy our stay. Gombe is a beautiful and unique place; there’s nothing like riding the boat with Rama past Jane Goodall’s house and to her research station before beginning a trek in the hills. Among my favorite moments in our stay was being greeted upon our return from chimp trekking adventures by Moses, with a tray of freshly prepared fruit juices. This is the experience of a lifetime and the team at the Gombe lodge do everything they can to make sure your stay lives up to expectations. I’d return in a heartbeat.

FANTASTIC TRIP! We (a group of 7) all LOVED our Chimpanzee trek with Mbali Mbali. It was the highlight of our whole trip to Tanzania! We took a really great Dhow boat across and back from Kigoma Hilltop Lodge and our time spent in Gombe National Park was simply wonderful. We had the BEST guides and the trackers and were very fortunate to see the Chimps within an hour of trekking. Every safety precaution for us and the chimps was observed and we had the most memorable hour possible with the chimps!
A HUGE THANK YOU to Aisha who organised every detail, including our accommodation at the lovely Kigoma Hilltop Lodge, via WhatsApp for us (as I didn't have a strong enough to receive emails). We were booking very last minute and everything worked out perfectly.

This is one of THE MOST stylish camps I have ever been to. I love that it has such a beautiful classic safari bush camp feel. Every single thing in the room was on its place and furnished together in harmony to make you feel like you are truly in Africa, very inspiring setting. The room is equipped with ensuite hot shower, toilet, gorgeous desk, comfy chair, comfy bad, mosquito net. The staff and the food was incredibly good. The guide is an expert not only in chimpanzees but in many many other things, I guarantee that by the end of your stay with Mbali Mbali Gombe you will get back with a bag of new knowledge and beautiful memories. I enjoyed every minute staying there. Very recommended!
