We had the most incredible trip of our life. Everyone from Ibrahim and Francis and Ekai and Violet, to our walking safari guide, and the gate manager, made us feel incredibly welcome. The service was impeccable, and subtly provided. And the Mara has beautiful sites and animals everywhere you look. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Unique and Fantastic experience, but just one thing…

I would echo all of the glowing reviews and will not add anything on those points, but have one criticism in the hope that management can consider this in future:

We were sent some information after booking that included the following on tipping:

“as a guideline industry norms are around $40 per couple per day for the guide; $20 per couple per day for the
butler; $10 per couple per day for the tent steward; and $15 per couple per day for the general staff.”

Our package cost $15,500 for five days and was all inclusive. When we were trying to get the cash for tips before we flew, we realised we were giving $100 per day (suggest tips plus a few other people). This is really not much compared to the price charged, but it’s definitely not “tips”. it’s a hidden cost. Tips are 10-20%. This would imply that various staff are earning hundreds of dollars per day. Some staff look after multiple guests and would be getting tips from all of them.

We of course paid all the tips because the staff depend on them and they are lovely people, but it felt a bit off because we are being treated as too dumb to figure out that we are paying salaries not tips and that this is a hidden cost. I’d rather the lodge pay a fair salary and not leave this to the guests.

Again, I still give 5/5 and would give 10/10 too. I would suggest that guests are asked to allocated 100 points at the end of the stay among the various staff and then the lodge can give bonuses.

We stayed for 5 nights at Angama Mara and we were so sad to leave.
Apart from the wonderful wildlife including predators , the ambience of the camp was remarkable .
Most important the staff here couldn’t have been more attentive .
Our butler Caroline was a real sweetheart and couldn’t do enough for us .
Our guide Jackson showed great skill in discovering elusive predators .
I am writing this sitting on our elevated balcony looking out across the Massai Mara as a sun sets on our final evening in Kenya .

It's not easy to put in words how beautiful this place is. I recently had the priviledge of staying at Agama Mara, and it was nothing short of a magical experience. The room, complete with a bathtub (perfect forn enjoying the rainy afternoons!) and an incredible view, was beyond perfect. We were treated to nightly visits by three zebras, creating a serene backdrop to our evenings.

The staff made our stay truly special. Jackton at the restaurant will always be in my heart: his beautiful smiles and the nightly ginger tea he prepared for me added a personal touch. A big shout-out to Robert and Joseph for unforgettable safari adventures in the jeep, and to Alfred, our knowledgeable Masai guide, who made bird watching and walking safaris fascinating.

Roy, our personal butler, was not just attentive but also exceptionally kind. The entire team radiated helpfulness, creating an authentic and warm atmosphere. The vibe, combined with the breathtaking views and the wonders of the park, exceeded all expectations. Agama Mara is not just a resort, it’s a heaven of hospitality and genuine African charm.

We spent 5 magical nights split between Angama Mara tented camp and Angama Mara Lodge and we experienced nothing short of world class hospitality.

From incredible Ibrahim and charming Jackson, chef Katana and Anthony who was just so genuine, to Moses, Doris in the boutique, Leshan and the incredible permaculture garden team, to our personal favorite - our house keeper Violet who was just the cherry on top of the service we experienced, we were truly delighted by Angama at every turn and that's without mentioning the increble sightings! More than this we got a genuine feel of the positive impact Angama has made through it's various community initiatives, not personally being ones to take marketing at face value - these guys really are making a marked difference to the lives of many hundreds of Kenyans in the Mara catchment area through the Angama Foundation.

Another special mention of praise to Rose, our Angama travel adviser who was fantastic. Can't wait to visit Amboselli. Thank you Angama Mara we couldn't imagine doing the Mara with anyone else.

Amazing 8 days. The Lodge and Camp provide luxury experience but each has its own unique elements. Service was fantastic. Highly recommend Jeremy as a guide.

MAGNIFICENT LODGE IN MAASAI MARA KENYA!
---When we entered the lodge and saw that endless view of the Massai Mara we were speechless! The beauty is beyond belief!
---Perched on the edge of the cliff our Tented Suite had floor to ceiling glass to maximize the gorgeous views. There is a huge outdoor deck, sitting area, large desk, soaking tub and shower that all face the views.
----We stayed here for 4 nights on our African Adventure of 6 ½ weeks, and it was one of our favorite lodges.
----What makes it so special is all the fabulous experiences that are all included in your stay.
----Make sure you read in advance on the website all the activities that are available and tell your guide when you get there and he will help you space out all the things to do on the days you have there.
----Activities that we loved:
----THE SHAMBA is Angama Mara’s one-acre lovely kitchen garden followed by lunch overlooking the Mara. William gave us a basket to pick out our lettuces and vegetables straight from the garden and then served us an outstanding lunch. Thank you William you were so wonderful.
----OUT OF AFRICA PICNIC overlooking the Mara where Out of Africa was filmed. We climbed up a mountain to get there. All laid out on the large rocks where we sat were checked blankets, cushions, a picnic and sparkling champagne. Our waiter Joshua was there serving us. It truly was special.
---Visit a Maasai Village which was a highlight! This is something not to be missed. You will learn all about their culture and customs, go inside a hut where they live, a fire making demonstration and dancing and singing. At the end the women set up their crafts, jewelry etc. they make- that were all reasonably priced.
---There is also hot air balloon rides but you have to get up at 4:30 a.m.- but that was too early for me! But we met people that went and loved it.
---All of the guests at the lodge will also participate in a Boma in a special location the early evening before dinner. They set up tables and chairs in a circular setting by candlelight and have an open bar and delicious hors d'oeuvres and snacks. Then a large group of Maasai warriors perform with singing, dancing and jumping! It was a magnificent event.
----There was also a Forest BBQ by candlelight about 10 minutes from the main lodge. Guests dine family style and the food was delicious. That was also a fabulous event.
----Don’t miss the fantastic gift shop where Maasai women are beading jewelry. The gift shop is very large with many high quality items to purchase.
----The game drives were fantastic! Robert was a passionate guide and an amazing person. We saw so many animals including lions (male and female), giraffes, zebras, elephants, etc and hippopotamus and crocodiles by the river. Robert taught us so much about all the animals we saw.
----Joshua our butler/waiter was wonderful. Thank you for the outstanding service you provided to us. You were always so attentive. And you always had my iced tea ready at every meal.
----Thank you to Roy our outstanding Housekeeper. Our Suite always looked perfect. We appreciated all you did for us.
----You are allowed to invite your guide to dinner and we also included our Housekeeper Roy too one evening. The lodge set up a wonderful table in the library for us. Sam Bailyn an intern at the lodge who we loved also joined us. We miss you Sam, Roy, Joshua and Robert! It was a marvelous dinner sharing with all of you!
---Azei the General Manager is engaging and knows how to run a fabulous lodge.
----Josephat – the Camp Manager was always present and was so lovely to us.
----Thank you also to Triza- who would help me climb in and out of the safari truck every time and up the mountain for the Out of Africa Picnic. You were so much fun! Sadera ( Head of Butlers), Evans (Chef) who prepared delicious food and Patrick ( who gave us a tour of the Map Room and led the Fabulous Boma).
----As we left the lodge all the staff that took care of us gave us an emotional goodbye. We will have lasting memories of our magnificent stay at Angama Mara.

Special thank to Tito, James, Wiki, Odidi, Sammy and Tess who made our trip even more special. Overall all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and it was the perfect place to stay to explore the Masai Mara. We definitely will be back.

Our stay in Angama Mara was wonderful! My partner has been to several national parks across multiple African countries and said that this is the best lodge he's been to. The lodge is beautifully located and packed with many activities so you will never run out of things to do. The service and staff were also impeccable. I mean.. who could say no to unlimited champagne and Grey Goose? 😀

We want to give a special shout-out to our butler George, who has been phenomenal! Our experience wouldn't have been as great if it wasn't for him. He was so helpful, attentive, and kind throughout our stay! He helped us plan all our activities so smoothly since we arrived and he makes the best cocktails. 😉 If the Angama Mara team sees this, this guy deserves a promotion.

Also a big thank you to Sam from the photography studio. It was our first time renting cameras for wildlife photography and we encourage everyone to do so. It adds a unique "depth" to your safari experience when you see the animals up close. Sam taught us how to use the cameras, gave us photography tips, and even edited our photos at the end of the day. He's the coolest!

Phenomenal property! We had an epic time in the Masai Mara. Ken (our driver from Angama Mara) was the “lion whisperer”- and knew exactly where the lions would go and hang out! He was knowledgeable and so fun! My kids loved him! They even played soccer with him and Boniface, our fantastic waiter the whole time we stayed at Angama. The manager- George- was very helpful and talked to us on multiple occasions. This is one of my favorite properties all over the world (and we have been everywhere- from the Maldives to Thailand, to Spain to South America etc). Food was delicious. Rooms were impeccable. Get a massage on the patio of ur tented suite! So worth it! The kids made bracelets in the jewelry area. The Masai ladies presented them with bracelets with their names on it the last day. Epic trip, and spectacularly beautiful property!

Staying at Angama was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. The luxury accommodations and stunning location were only part of why it was so great here. The staff is what really sets Angama apart. The experience and kindness of our guide Moses was fantastic. Photographer Robert captured the essence of this amazing journey. The photography tips I will take with me will last a lifetime. Adlight was intuitive and knew how to make our stay even more enjoyable. Angama provided such a unique experience that will remain in my heart and memories.

An unforgettable and special place, I had a truly amazing experience here. The rooms are beautiful, the views are stunning, overlooking the plains. Every moment spent here feels magical. The staff is incredibly helpful, catering to every request immediately and with a smile. Fred helped make the game drives unforgettable. The food is truly delicious, and they make their food using organic produce from their own garden, which they gave me an amazing tour of. I love this magical place and will be back.

Stayed here August 2020.

Our loving honeymoon in Angama Mara:
We visited Angama Mara for our honeymoon in January 2023.
The agency that organized the trip for us was More Travel Experience. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE with Andrea Castro.
A magical place with even more magical staff.
We had the privilege of meeting the owners of the hotel.
We met our new hero and heroine: Tito, our safari guide, and Adlight.
Adlight organized our meals and our activities with her warm, angelic, and unique touch. She knows how to make you feel special, important, and cared for.
We lived experiences that we will treasure for life.
The complex is zero waste.
They take care of every detail.
Delicious food. My favorite drink was made from peanut butter for breakfast, a kind of shake or smoothie. Fresh bread, local ingredients. They have their own garden to cultivate. Local dishes, and also international options. Healthy food and full of love. "We don't serve fancy food. We serve good food" something like that said on the menu and I confirm it 100%.
Other friends we made: Patrick, Alfred, and many more. All with a smile and with a unique touch. You really get to bond with them.
The hotel has a fantastic gift shop.
A wonderful pool surrounded by plants.
We had dance activities with the Masai.
Also, a professional photography session.
Tito, our guide, has extensive empirical knowledge about the animals, their behavior, and their habitat. It encourages and motivates you with love to take care of nature. I highly recommend families who have the opportunity to visit Angama Mara to do it; for an unforgettable experience that will also fill the whole family with knowledge. Less schools and more safaris!
A safari is synonymous of: peace + nature + patience + contemplation + amazement + surprises + soul. It is something that every family / person should experience at least once in their life.
The tents are spectacular.
Bathtub
They heat the bed at night
Spectacular view
Tea and coffee service with snacks
Glass bottles with water, reusable to take care of the environment
They wash your clothes daily, so you can travel light
Amazing interior design
You feel safe inside your home tent although you can hear all the sounds of wildlife outside. Of course, do not even think about going out alone at night. Remember that although you are always being cared for, you are still surrounded by wild animals.
They offer you amenities such as: umbrellas, bags, sandals for the pool, shampoo, body soap, hand soap, and conditioner. You don't need anything more than to arrive with your clothes!
The owners of the hotel, N and K: Simple, generous women who clearly put their whole soul into their hotel, and are leaders of leaders. Having in Angama Mara an excellent warm team of work. They deserve to keep expanding for their amazing work and for putting their soul into what they do!
There are a variety of activities: breakfast picnic in the national reserve (you arrive in the safari car, you come into direct contact with nature).
Walking safari where they filmed "Out of Africa".
Barbecue
Surprise meal in the same place -"Out of Africa"- with one of the best views of your life.
Some animals that we visualize:
Large and various groups of elephants
Baboons
Cheetah
Lions (different herds) and lionesses
Zebras
Buffaloes
Giraffes
Hippos
Crocodiles
Leopard
Eagle
Ostrich
Rhinoceros
Topis
Ducks
Impalas
Birds
Hyenas
And many, many more animals, as well as flora of different types.
We had wine present in unique moments.
It has been one of the top 3 most important and significant experiences in my life. I met fantastic people and for the same reason we keep in touch through social networks.
Thank you Angama Mara for changing my life!
Thank you Adlight and Tito!

Angama Mara family has become our family during our visit. Seriously, we LOVE them all! Unfailingly kind, extraordinarily professional, each and every member of the staff ensured our visit was the best vacation we have ever had. And then there is the facility itself…unparalleled views, cozy, comfortable rooms. We could not have asked for more!

Every room in the lodge has amazing view of the Mara. The staff was friendly and very well organised safaris. The breakfast in the bush after hot air balloon ride was so memorable with the wilderness around you, such breathtaking views.
