HANOI HOUSE CAFE

I realise this is from a restaurant in a different location, but that sadly closed the night after we left and Kim, the owner, runs this one too. I felt it was important to share how wonderful our experience was. We were let down last minute by the place I was supposed to host my 40th birthday at. We walked passed Kim's restaurant at the Sharazad hotel, and she bent over backwards to make my party happen that night. It was incredible and her and her team helped me have the perfect night. Came for the Vietnamese coffee and enjoyed lunch as well. The portions are large and everything made fresh. They didn’t have the first dish I wanted so I ordered something else. They also do a great job of including the fresh herbs that are necessary for Vietnamese food and not easy to come by in Zanzibar. Our barista was very friendly and made our drinks with great care. Loved the vibe to relax out of the sun.

Absolutely my favorite vibe on the street in paje. Kim has done an incredible job at making the space her own. I have lived in Zanzibar for 3 years and watched the small plot develop into something magnificent, the work that she and her team do there is honorable and a beautiful collective effort. She has a way with her staff that they just want to work their best with her. I love to support places in our community that care about the locals and the environment. She truly has always impressed me with what she creates. Food is amazing and made with love and care as well as the coffee always served by sweet and fun staff. Great place to relax with a book or a friend. Tom Yum soup is amazing and my favorite is the coconut coffee

Fantastic atmosphere

Amazing food, everything we’ve tried here was full of taste, fresh and nicely served. The staff was very polite and friendly. I can honestly say that it’s the best restaurant in Paje.

One of the best Vietnamese food outside Vietnam. We had a great time there and the service was very nice! Everything we ordered was perfect. (Baked chicken with Bao Buns, Thai drunken noodles, lepton with milk and hibiscus with lemon). We recommend it to everyone who needs some Asian food in Africa ❤

It’s was a wonder to find Vietnamese street food in Zanzibar. There are amazing portions of soup around 20-25 thousand shillings. Real egg’s coffee and great smoothie. We even met Kim, the owner with incredible story, which you can read in the menu pages.

This place was absolutely amazing! They have such a cozy vibe along with great service. The Bao Bun with the chicken was easily in my top five dishes I have ever had in my life. I liked the restaurant so much that I went back to get more in the same day. Highly recommend!

Wonderful peaceful oasis with creative delicious coffee options. Very inspiring tastes. High quality coffee from around the world. We had the coconut and the whipped coffee. Kim the Owner was very welcoming and gave us interesting insight of her story and background in Vietnam. So much love. Looking forward to visit again.

Kim has created a little paradise in Paje. Surrounded by greenery, you can enjoy great coffee drinks and delicious Vietnamese food. We were thrilled by her hospitality and she gave us some great tips for exploring the island. I especially loved the coffee with homemade cashew milk. A vegetarian or vegan breakfast was also no problem and she created some dishes for us that weren't even on the menu. We will miss this place!

Very nice cafe protected from the road by a gardon of banana trees, passionfruit vines, lemongrass and more. We had an excellent smoothie and tradition Vietnamese coffee. Next time we will try the food menu. Highly recommend spot and 5-stars.

Very cozy Vietnamese restaurant in Paje. It is on the main road but the plants and design create a really secluded atmosphere. Staff is friendly and professional. The food is amazing, we'll be back.

Definitely my favourite coffee place in Zanzibar. In the middle of busy Paje you will find yourself in a Vietnamese Garden feeling like in a fairytale. Then you will see the menu card (the card itself is very unique) and inside the selection of delicious homemade coffee, snacks, food and different drinks. All of them are made on the spot including their vegan milks! Everything I had at Hanoi was incredible but my favourites are Mango Matcha Coco Custard and their famous Coconut Coffee ❤. The owner put so much heart and dedication to this place and thanks to her we can have the little Vietnam here in Zanzibar. Not to mention very friendly and professional staff that always welcomes you with a big smile. Hanoi House is a must for anyone visiting East Coast!

Amazing Vietnamese restaurant, the food was delicious, we have been to Vietnam and it reminded us of our trip there. The staff is super friendly and helpful, we have not tried the coffees but we have seen them and they looked delicious, 100% recommended
