Elegant at first sight without being pretentious. Lobby was warm and inviting. We enjoyed coffee by the windows. Room was great given the age of the hotel. Great view and plenty of space. I’m not sure if it was inconvenient or refreshing to stay in a hotel room with no desk. I would rather work in one of the numerous sitting areas around the hotel. Water was always hot. Nice sized fridge for our local beverages and snacks. Our room faced the street (great sunrise views) but there was very little noise that could be heard. You can’t beat being able to walk to dinner, Lithia Park or the theaters.

This is my second time staying here and both times were wonderful. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff is friendly and although it is an old hotel it is a “fireproof” hotel which means concrete, and concrete means quiet!
The free breakfast is just a buffet but if you are choosing this hotel, you are probably someone who wants to eat at one of the great nearby restaurants anyway. And if you are in a rush it is fine.

So charming! The walls, decor, linens, lamps,
and furniture in the room and lobby is exquisite. Quite reasonably priced for a beautiful historic hotel full of character. The architectural details are wonderfully preserved. The garden is serene and the tables along the French doors to the garden are lovely.

I suggest just the complementary tea and coffee, and not bother complementary breakfast. It is rather lousy. However, the areas where you can sit and drink coffee or eat the breakfast are beautiful. There are so many options for breakfast in walking distance.

The robe in the room was wonderful. The room even had a little fridge. They offer a guest pass to a fitness place nearby, which is open 24/7. I wish they had a gift shop with more lovely items - there is a curio cabinet in the lobby with a few things and a display of stereograph correspondence cards.

Amazing location for. Pic is 8th floor sunrises view. Right in the middle of downtown, almost flat walk to shops, restaurants, bars. Historic, but updated. King room was large, given the age of the property and thoughtfully laid out. Excellent breakfast buffet. Cute meeting/wedding space.

Stayed here for a stay cation. Nicely furnished rooms with traditional look but modern amenities. Wonderful views of town and the valley. Very nice complimentary breakfast in lovely setting.

This review acknowledges the limitations one should expect when making your stay at a historic property.

Location: the shortest walk to everything in Ashland. Completely accessible with free parking. 3rd floor rooms require no use of elevator, just the ramp from the parking lot behind the building.

Rooms: Not many will be the same layout, but the standard will be considered small compared to modern hotels. Pics shown are 316. Bed is really comfortable, and since the property has central air, sleeping is relatively quiet. Some may find the shower head short. Note the eagle bust outside our shower window.

Amenities: Plenty of great spots to read amor write; enjoy some afternoon tea and cookies. Breakfast at 7am.

Staff: very informative and helpful.

Beautifully restored 1923 hotel in the heart of vibrant Ashland, OR. Great coffee shops, bakeries, and restaurants close by. Stroll through beautiful Lithia Park or continue for miles on hiking trails. Or relax by the fire in the lovely lobby.

Loved our stay! We booked last minute in the middle of the night and received the best service upon our arrival. The room was great (just a little cold), we had robes, fluffy towels, amenities, and a very comfy bed. The breakfast was delicious and you can't beat the atmosphere. Best hotel we stayed in during our trip and it was the best price.

Fortunate enough to experience this historic beauty when in town, we stayed for a night and it was worth it. They also serve complimentary breakfast in the morning which was decent enough.

This hotel is such a delight! Every single element was above and beyond my expectations. Beautiful decor, plush beds, delicious breakfast, friendly staff. Feels like we should have been charged twice as much for such a nice night. I wish we could have stayed longer and will plan a trip back to Ashland just to stay here. You can tell that the owners and staff are truly invested in making it a memorable experience.

What a beautiful hotel. The front desk staff was amazing. The room was quaint and the view from our room was amazing. We had a corner room so had views in two different directions. There was even breakfast and it was better than I was used to at hotels. The experience was great!! We will definitely be back.

This hotel is a hidden gem. It is so beautiful and quaint. The bird decor everywhere is lovely. Our room was very small but worked fine for our overnight, except the TV was not working properly. The hotel restaurant, Larks, has absolutely amazing food.
