Went to see if I could get assistance with my energy bill.... they had me fill out paperwork and then told me to call Ms. Hill or Ms. Tuttle... when I spoke to Ms. Hill I was spoken poorly to. First thing said was that I should have already been asked certain questions and when I said I hadn't been I was still spoken to as an inconvenience! As though I should know or advice their staff on how to do their job. I haven't asked for help before so how would I know?! I'm sorry that I'm not aware of how this all works. I'm obviously in a hard situation and the attitude was definitely making it worse! I feel for people that have to approach for assistance and are treated so poorly! It's like kicking someone when they are already down! 😔 any tone of care or sympathy would have been accepted much better! But I guess I will figure it out or we will sit in the dark and heat! Did you know that they wont assist you unless child under 5 or adult over 60 OR disabled resides in the home?!?!... not a single mom with two kids! Absolutely insane to me!

I moved to Hanover County from Roanoke City in May, and in the past 4 months have not gotten ONE return call from my assigned worker. In Roanoke, all workers have their supervisors numbers listed on voicemail so you can go up in the chain of command if something like this happens.

I call the main number with no luck on getting through.

I just gave birth on July 26th 2018. On the 31st I was back in the ER and admitted for hypertension. Sent home on the 7th of August. On the 9th of August I was told I would need a DNC for retained placenta. I got the procedure and later than night started hemorrhaging and almost died and had to have an emergency hysterectomy and was then kept in the hospital for 2 weeks.

Upon finally arriving home after almost a month of scary situations with my health, I receive a letter telling me my Medicaid is cancelled for failure to renew.

I have been trying desperately to contact my worker and resolve this and figure it out, as I said with no response.

I suffer ptsd, and am trying to physically recover from a high risk difficult pregnancy, and traumatic after effects and am getting zero support from the agency that should be helping me.

Terrible. My daughter is 4 months old and JUST received her insurance because of the complete lack of care from her social worker. She didn't even start my daughter's insurance on the correct month! Writing my governor. And you should too.

I called to report child abuse and the people were extremely rude and couldnt care less. I attempted to give them the information and they didnt want to write anything down bc i didnt have the number address but i told them i know the street address and names of everyone involved. I guess a poor child will continue to be abused for the next 11 years bc of these outstanding ppl, working for hanover county. Thank you!!
