I purchased hearing aids from Wales a couple of years ago. I paid $7,800 for them at the time of service, believing in good faith that the terms of my insurance, whatever they were, would be honored. When I received the EOB from my insurance, I found that Wales was contacted with my insurance as an in-network provider. Under the terms of that contract, Wales was supposed to to accept a $5,200 contractual adjustment to the price of my hearing aids, which should have reduced what I owed Wales by $5,200. When I approaced the owner, he flatly refused to honor the terms of the contract or to refund me anything more than the $250 payment he received from my insurance.
I contacted my insurance company, the State Attorney General and a local attorney. All said they were unable to help me. Despite approaching the owner numerous times, he has still flatly refused me anything more than the $250 payment he received from my insurance.
If you have insurance, I would strongly encourage you to fully understand the terms of your insurance and the status of Wales Hearing under your insurance plan before you pay Wales Hearing anything.
In terms of rating customer service, for the owner, if I could give a rating of negative five stars, I would. The individual I worked with there in testing and fitting my hearing aids was excellent, but he is no longer there.

Both my mother- in- law and I bought our Hearing aids from the Fergus Falls Store, when it became obvious that the son of the owner in Alex , who runs the Fergus store, did not know what he's doing we made an appointment with the father in Alexandria. He was totally rude, mean spirited and unfit to run any kind of business. He wanted to charge me $175.00 to just look and maybe adjust my hearing aids I told him i would rather go to Costco and buy a new pair. He bet me a $100.00 that I wouldn't because according to him Costco doesn't sell hearing aids. I won that bet!
Both of us just got our new hearing aids from Costco. Best decision we made. Oh...what he wanted to charge me for, another Starkey dealer did for free. What a JOKE!

My experience wasn't related to the sale of any hearing aids. I received an item of what is clearly "junk," advertising mail from Mr. And Mrs. Wales, addressed to a person who doesn't exist, at my address. We have received mail for this fictious person in the past, and my husband and I are fed up and want it to stop. So, I Googled the return address and figured out the mail was from Wales Hearing Aid Center. I called and spoke with a man, who I presume is the owner of the company, and attempted to figure out how he got our address (since my husband and I are in our late 20s and neither of us require hearing aids) and to let him know there is no person at our home by the name listed on his advertising material. The man on the phone was very curt with me, despite my polite requests for information on how he got my address and after I informed him there was no person at my home with the name on the mail. He became belligerent with me, explained he had no control over the mailing addresses because he purchased them from a company who sells mailing lists and that they should all be current addresses. When I simply asked for the name of the company he purchased the lists from, he asked, "Why? Are you going to contact them?" When I replied that, yes, this has happened before and I'd like it to stop, he changed the subject, flat out refused to give me the name of the company he purchased from, and hung up on me. All because I asked a few, polite questions. I wouldn't bring my parents or my grandparents to a place that wouldn't even help a person stop getting junk mail.

The male owner of this business helped me fix my daughter's hearing aid, but then verbally threw me out. He was very unwelcoming when I entered the building, and I even asked him if something was wrong, which there was no response. As he fixed the hearing aid and after, I was asking him questions about the hearing aid, because I'm trying to figure out if I need to send it back to the manufacture for replacement. He responded with, that he did what I needed for free, and I could leave, but I stood there asking what just happened?? And, that I did not expect his services for free and was willing to pay, like my husband had previously, but he was persistent about me leaving, NOW! I became very confused, upset, and felt completely disrespected. I will never recommend this business to anyone.

Pity there isn’t a minus star. The owner is a complete and utter nutcase. Stay away
