This is a very cool location and well worth the admission fee. We were running late during our visit so we plan to go back during another visit. This time, we wanted to be sure to see the actual lighthouse.
I decided to conquer my fear of heights today so I went to the top. I must say it was worth the climb.
The staff was VERY friendly and I especially enjoyed speaking with the nice lady at the top today. She was very knowledgable and kept me occupied while I was stressing over the height of the lighthouse.
The gift shop had a nice selection of relevant and interesting gifts.
I’m trying to cut back on the five star reviews but we highly recommend this attraction!!

This was a great experience. The climb to the top is challenging but many stops along the way to either rest or allow others to pass. View from the top is beautiful! Keepers building was interesting and there were some men actually building wooden boats. Nature trails were fun too!

Wonderful experience! We paid the fee to go to the top and it was well worth to climb the 219 steps. Outstanding views! Beautiful lighthouse! Staff were friendly. Restroom was as to be expected. Reasonable prices in the gift shop. Will definitely return!

It was a wonderful experience atop the light house. One has to climb up more than 200 stairs but the view from up there is worth it.

We went there on a Thursday and the place had a decent amount of crowd. It has multiple museums mentioning the history of the lighthouse, US Coast guard and shrimp industry.

You have lots of places to take good photos from and they also have a gift shop. They have kids play areas, and also good places. There's something for everyone. Entry is relatively cheap too!

Do visit here if you are in St Augustine!

Really well preserved and restored historical site. Of all the experiences we tried in Saint Augustine we felt this was the best deal we got for the money. There are tons of different exhibits, many of them have an interactive component. The condition of the house and the light house is excellent. All the staff was really friendly and excited to tell you about different parts of the museum and grounds.

The St. Augustine Lighthouse was absolutely amazing. My sister and I went here with our family for our birthday. Everyone we talked to who worked there was so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The lighthouse was beautiful and such a cool experience. We also enjoyed visiting the lighthouse keepers' houses and grounds and seeing what life was like for the lighthouse keeper and his family in the 1800s. When we got to the top, the view was absolutely amazing. The volunteer at the top, John offered to take our picture and encouraged us to come back up an hour later to see the sunset from the top of the lighthouse, which was beautiful. He walked with us back down the lighthouse, chatting with us the whole way and even wished my sister and I a happy birthday. All of the volunteers/employees were also very friendly.

Beautiful well kept light and grounds. the museum, light keepers home and other buildings brimming with history. You can tell the staff love their light. Highly recommend visiting the grounds and if you are able climb the 219 steps for an awesome view of the area. They also have a night time tour that I would like to check out in the future. We did not buy advance tickets, but during busy season, you may want to see what is recommended.

Beautiful grounds, friendly and dedicated staff. The evening sunset tour was breathtaking. The climb up the many stairs was nicely broken up by different exhibits in various levels. The view from the top was spectacular and it was nice that they allow as much time as you want once up top. Our tour guide shared plenty of stories of the light house’s history….and also provided us with some of the ghostly tales associated with the place! (I was disappointed that I missed the ghost tour a day earlier and our guide was so kind and accommodating). I can’t say enough about this lovely pace and it’s awesome employees!

Went there in January and it was still decorated for Christmas! Loved seeing all the Christmas trees and mantles. They have many buildings to explore. Go to the front of the inn keeper house for best pictures without people in them!

I’ve made this trip about 4 times to Saint Augustine and I always have to come see the lighthouse. It is so beautiful, it feels so peaceful, they take so much care of this property. I don’t have anything but good things to say about this lighthouse. I love it 😍 definitely a place in Florida that needs to be visited.

The view of St. Augustine from the lighthouse is incredible! Be ready to climb because it’s a lot of stairs and well worth the effort. There are other activities on the ground including a playground for small kids, a walking path, various small museums, and the gift store is a fun attraction to itself. If you even think of going more than once, the annual membership is a no brainer. I highly recommend this attraction. PRO TIP: buy or bring bottled water to drink once you reach the top of the lighthouse! You’ll be able to enjoy the view longer and be refreshed before the trek down.

Gorgeous lighthouse and so well preserved!! It's a part of the Smithsonian institute, so you know it's jam packed with information. You can admire it from outside pretty well and go inside the gift shop, but at $15 for adults, I'd rather save my money and admire it from afar. Especially as a giant group of school kids was about to go through the "Megaphone"

This is a beautiful and well done park and museum! Driving in at night was a little spooky due to the lack of street lights but GPS did a great job and took us right into the parking area. That lack of street lights was very apropos, making the illuminated lighthouse itself more starkly juxtaposed against the dark sky and surrounding area.
The front porch of the museum was a relaxing place with nice Christmas decorations.

Beautiful lighthouse, but take it from me and GO EARLY!! It gets so busy, and it's difficult to get pictures without other people in them. We got there around 10AM, and when we left at 11:45AM, it was jam-packed. So much history and enjoyable for the entire family.

Great historic lighthouse and surrounding campus with plenty of period hardware and historical information. The 219 steps are on a spiral staircase that has eight landings with windows and/or factory boards so you can rest while learning or enjoying the view. The lighthouse and the rest of the buildings/grounds are in excellent condition. The outside observation deck, just below the light housing, is the highest level you can go and you can see for miles, looking down on St. Augustine. It is cheaper to buy tickets online using codes from various sources and there is a senior discount rate. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, completing the package for a must-see attraction for history/lighthouse buffs.

I loved it. They had a free walk including the ghost walk. I got to see the history and reached the top of the Lighthouse but got scared when I saw how high I was from the ground. I highly recommend you do not go up if you have vertigo but a beautiful from above. I absolutely loved it.

Best view in St Augustine! Beautifully restored and maintained 1800’s brick lighthouse. Climb the 219 steps to the top & get 360 degree view of St John’s County & the town of St Augustine, surrounding beaches & marshes. At the top you can get an up close view of the fresnel lens as well. Historical exhibits throughout. You can also tour the keepers house & other surrounding buildings. Lovely, well-maintained gardens around as well. Minimal cost to enter & climb the lighthouse. No charge for parking. Gift shop & restrooms are also available. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Dogs not allowed.

Beautiful place to visit. Heads up its a steep spiral staircase 216 steps ( no elevator) so if someone in your group has medical issues / handicapped this wouldn't be the place to go. Hopefully in the future they can install a elevator so everyone could enjoy
