So I think it’s important to fully understand the challenges and tremendous potential Ski Apache represents for anyone wanting to ski here. First off, it’s an amazing big mountain with tons of awesome runs, bowls, lifts, and views. The main problem is inconsistency in snowfall and what seems to be a struggle to maintain adequate staffing. When snow is there, they will see large crowds, so get to the mountain BEFORE the lifts open, and then stay up top to avoid crowds at the lifts around the base area. We had great snow and had an unbelievable two days of shredding the upper mountain (FEB-24). If you follow this advice, you can have an amazing ski day here!

Very helpful staff! Fred went above and beyond to act quickly and get my gloves back from someone who had taken them while I had run into the restroom. He reviewed the video day, searched for they person quickly and returned my gloves! What a great example of customer service. Thanks Fred!!!

The best adventure in my life until now. It counts every cent spent there. Follow the traffic signs to go up the mountain when it's snowing. Be prepared with your vehicle, you can rent the ski equipment in the town because it is cheaper than in the mountain.

Very nice mountains with lots of fun. From beginners to expert! Rentals are available and enough parking space.

Great time for a beginner! My more experienced friends hit the slopes while I took private lessons and then caught up for the remainder of the day. Decent skiing and not overly crowded.

We went tubing twice on our visit to Cloudcroft recently. We went the week before Christmas and then again January 1. Super fun not that expensive and the lines weren’t horrible January 1. It was a little busy but it was OK. We still had a ton of fun and I think it’s totally worth going.
Everyone is very friendly and there to have fun! There is a restaurant up near where you buy your tickets that serves pizza and hot cocoa, and other items we just had hot cocoa because we were there early in the morning but it’s a cute little spot to grab a bite after playing in the snow.

My first rodeo at this place today and first snowboarding in NM. Lucky to have copious amounts of fluffy powder and more falling all day. All the runs from the gondola were great and the gondola operator at the bottom had some great jams for the supper short wait. One of my best snowboarding days in my 42yrs. It was short and sweet and will be back for sure, but won’t tell too Monday, love the small operation and low ration of people to runs.

I love this place.

I have so many beautiful core memories from this town, in general. We drive up to Ski Apache every couple of years & I even got engaged on the drive up to the mountain, so it’s extra special to me.

The ski lifts aren’t too busy, especially the more advanced you become, but they move fairly quickly. There’s one at the far right-hand side that I especially love because it has more views & is a bit more exciting that the beginner one in the entrance.

Disclaimer: We went during MLK weekend & I have to admit the lifts were expensive (paid $100+ for half day each) plus equipment rentals ($40), so I hope they put some of those profits into the restrooms because they can use some improvement lol

Anyway, love Ski Apache.

I hope we can continue to take good care of it for future generations!

My husband and I stopped here for a nice gondola ride to the top and had a wonderful time. The admission is less for seniors, military, and children. If you're 70+, it's only $20! The folks at every station were friendly and helpful. The view at the top was profound as we could see White Sands and the Valley of Fire lava flow!

Enjoyed the snow, skiing, snowboarding, views, roads were cleared to the ski resort, town is very nice with lots of novelty shops, restaurants, casinos, saw elk, horses, and had lots of fun. The hills coming into Riodoso are very pretty and interesting but a lot of the drive through last part of Texas was not. The elk just walk right in and around all the houses, neighborhood up on the hill. Several cone right up close to see what you have in your hand. I didn't have food one time but had a throat lozenger so offered it, it took it, started chewing it, seemed to like it and wanted more but I was out.

A beautiful ski park. They have zip lining as well. A beginners side, too. It's a great place for family fun.

Lots of fun, great slopes for intermediate skiers. The drive up takes a little while, but it's worth it. Make sure to get here early to be able to get up the mountain as quickly as possible. Later in the day the lift line gets pretty long.

Finally made it to the zipline trip today. This is the most wonderful thing that I did. I was so afraid of the height and cried not to do the trip right before standing up on the starter point. I am so grateful and thankful that The Apache Team ( Nono and Jack) and other visitors in my group are so cheering and encouraging that I finally conquered my inner fear and finished the trip. Especially, thanks again to Nono, Jack and my friends without you guys I wouldn’t have the amazingly blissful trip.

PS. Besides the introduction session, there are three main rides included. The first one I ride with Nono💓 she made me feel much more confident🫶🏻 After the first ride, I continued the rest rides with my friends. Believe me, it is definitely a must-do for trips in New Mexico. Also, it is not that scary. If you do, just look up the sky and trust the whole crew. You are in good hands.

Thank you Ski Apache Team🫶🏻 Nono(Shannoah ), jack, Kordell,Alec, and Ryan
Btw, even if you are not riding, this place is gorgeous. Scenic view on the way up the the camp, we saw wild horses and deers.

Jan 2023. Wind was calm and a sunny day. Snow was okay not very fluffy but it was still a very fun day. The family enjoyed it. I believe the weather was around 50 degrees. Food was good too. They had a snow storm blew threw Yesterday MLK day, so maybe the snow will be better this next weekend.

Breathtaking view. Just to drive up hill is quiet an adventure.
We enjoy the free snow hills. Ski Apache Park was BUSY!!!! BUT once we get there outside the parking lot there is a spot where you can do Snow activities for free. It worked out wonderfully for us since our 3 and 1 year old kids all did was sledding.

Even though it’s focused on skiing, it’s a great place to visit during the summer. We took the gondola up to the mountain and had some breathtaking views. Decided to hike back down instead of taking the gondola, which was a lot of fun.

Amazing place for skiing!
I am from México, was my first time there and loved it!

Bad luck for me there was a lot of people, so we took 2 hours to pay the entrances and pick up the ski equipment, that was awful! Besides that, the experience was amazing.

Skiing equipment rent cost = $ 130 USD p/p
Cost of the gondola = $40 USD p/p

Ski Apache is a wonderful winter destination in the desert. The staff is friendly, the trails are easy enough to learn on the bottom of the mountain, and as you go up the mountain the trails get more difficult, but nothing too crazy unless you accidentally slide into a black. There are ski schools offered every two hours, not sure about cost. The price for a half day is a wonderful value for beginners starting at noon. The rental staff is nice and the equipment was updated with in the past five years. The gondola ride is wonderful. You can see the majority of the area and others enjoying the mountain. Enjoying the bottom of the mountain is easy as the chair lifts servicing this area are easily accessible. These lifts take you some more adventurous slopes. Taking the gondola is where you get to experience the entire mountain. Take the car walk to the main blue area and access to the slow sloping green of sierra Blanca trail. The opposite way drops you into fun blue slopes chino and ambush dumping into the main green slope taking you to the chair lift servicing the northern side of the mountain if you don't want to go all the down to ride the gondola again. The amount of people can seem great, but there is plenty of room for everyone and everyone is having a great time. If you've never gone before this a great learning mountain. Enjoy the day at ski apache

Truly a gem in New Mexico the black diamonds were exceptional with the new additional snow

This place is magical when the lifts are running to the top of the mountain. Some years are better than others for snow, but 2022-23 has been amazing. The bowl is open! The line for the gondola can get a little long, but if lift 1 is running, you can do the top half of the mountain, some of the best runs, over and over again, and there’s never a line. Took some pictures from lift 1 on my last run yesterday.
