I really like this school, yeah there's thing to fix but that's with every school... the standard we put for ourselves is how we think or see things. And my life standard are high, but this school has been a blessing. Not so many schools present good opportunity to student, the teacher are gratifying In their work. I truly thank them.

Happy with the Pearson platform, tutoring tools are also available. Teachers are easy to reach when you need them. They strive for your child's success. My child enjoyed the platform too.

The program includes weekly live lessons. Physical activities are done on your own. Art and music class are available depending on the local school. Student clubs are also available.

If the parent and child are eager, its possible to reach other families. The program works wonderfully for self driven children. Be aware online schooling is not for everyone. The program also includes weekly live sessions. "Overall was a great experience".

I want to thank the faculty and staff of Alabama Connections Academy. They are by far the best school my son has ever attended. The teachers are caring, helpful, and knowledgeable. The guidance counselor Dr. Quaife deserves an award for all the things she does to help students. The school helped provide a safe environment, academic excellence, and a wonderful experience for my student and myself as a parent/learning coach. I highly recommend Alabama Connections Academy as an educator in my own profession in higher education. Thanks!

We have been very impressed with our children's experiences with Alabama Connections Academy. We withdrew our children from our local public school program after it was clear that they were struggling there with the educational inconsistencies that occurred during the pandemic and my once straight As sons were bringing home Cs and Ds. The time and attention that they were given with ACA was incredible. Slowly, my sons not only brought up their grades, but they were happier and felt supported and engaged. I was so thrilled to see that they had access to live lessons, clubs, and that parents were encouraged to participate. My son in high schools was given the opportunity to take dual enrollment at the University of Alabama. Because of that, he'll be entering college as a second semester freshman. The flexibility of the program has also allowed us to take family trips we never would have been able to take if they were in in-person classes. It's allowed our boys to also have time to read and participate in activities we would not have been able to do before. We've been able to do more things as a family just in general. I will always encourage folks to consider ACA if they are thinking about homeschooling or needing an educational alternative for their children.

After my daughter’s magnet school went virtual because of Covid, her grades plummeted. I enrolled her in ALCA and she has been on honor roll the entire year! She truly enjoyed the layout of the lessons and how easy it was to communicate with her teachers.

ALCA has been wonderful for my daughter's last three years of high school. Better curriculum than brick and mortar schools with more opportunities and free duel enrollment. ALCO teacher access and communication is better by far.

I got 3 children in the Academy 1st grade, 3rd grade and a High School Senior. This is our second year with them and in the names of my babies I couldn’t be happier. Like many we found our way to Connections during the pandemic. Our regular schools were utterly overwhelmed and unprepared to properly manage a pandemic and the challenges that came with it. What do we like about our Academy? The curriculum is demanding however comes with lots of help and assistance if you need it. The books are thorough with lots of information for the main caregiver and the children. We can work on our pace but still have deadlines which we appreciate since it reminds us to stay on track. I have the luxury to tailor the education to each child. One likes to sleep longer so he can sleep and start his school work later during the day. The other one is an early riser and likes to get started first thing in the morning. My high schooler is completely self sufficient and does her own work. All of my kids are A students. My 3rd grader was bored out of his mind in brick and mortar school. None of the teachers noticed that he is gifted and simply wasn’t given the appropriate challenges he needed to keep his interest. Now he is in the gifted program with teachers that are specifically taught to teach kids like him. My first grader is a math wizard and my high schooler a 4.4 student. She spend 8-9 hours in school and then was exhausted when she arrived at home. Almost every teacher “ used” her for group assignments that she always ended up doing herself. None of her peers helped or contributed. My daughter was frustrated and beyond fed up. She is so mad at me that I didn’t sign her up for Connections Academy years ago. I have happy, confident, curious children that truly love school and are looking forward to learning. It comes with lots of responsibilities for me but I am more than willing to spend the time necessary and teach them. It’s a true gift to be able to be with my children all day and watch them grow and learn new things. I get to share their happiness and see possible issues right away. By the way, you don’t need to be dressed in your Sundays best to attend live lessons that are recorded. You can watch them whenever it fits your child’s schedule. Furthermore my kids pay just as much attention to their classes wearing their Pyjamas as they would wearing school uniforms. One child needs to be multitasked while the other one likes his peace and quiet time. This is a great option for kids and parents that like to be in control of their education. The teachers are amazing. If you have questions, issues or anything that concerns you, you get contacted with 24 hours of reaching out. If your kids need help they get free tutoring. We have field trips, get togethers and dedicated staff. You can see that our teachers are not overwhelmed and truly enjoy teaching. Thank you Alabama Connections Academy,

I do not understand most of these bad reviews. Yes it is a public online school so they they get funding, which is why it is free. But we have had the best teachers, especially Mrs. Welch my son's IEP teacher. They accommodate lessons for kids that struggle and have learning disabilities. He struggles with dyslexia and she has been amazing. The process to enroll can get lengthy especially if you wait til last minute to enroll or you add things one at a time but they called me several times to check up on documents that they were waiting on. You can work ahead and get all of you work done if you want. My son is a senior and graduating in December(half a year early). He will walk in May. It is self paced because you can work ahead, and they give you opportunities to get your work in. There are clubs you can participate in and they have field trip opportunities you can take if you want. They also will send you a laptop and supplies for free if you house hold qualifies and give you an internet subsidy to help offset the cost. This is a very good choice for any student that struggles with in person school or if you want your child to be safe at home.

I am grateful that Connections Academy has been here as an alternative to traditional school. Some kids have a better educational experience when they are removed from all the distraction and can just focus on their work.

As a student of this school, I can say it is a very nice upgrade from PGHS. I won’t definitely recommend this school to anyone who is looking for flexibility and self paced working
