I actually live on Killisnoo Island and interact with the staff and crew on a daily basis. I see all the happy guests when they return to the dock from their fishing or eco-adventures. In my experience this the greatest fishing location in the world. The friendliness of the crew and staff is wonderful and the food is excellent.

I went last year and let me tell you this place is great. The food at the lodge was top shelf, everything from caribou, salmon, halibut, duck, wild boar, and venison. Plus king crab and rib eyes. The fishing was great, schools of salmon just of the coast 15 minutes away. The rooms were clean and comfortable. This is a wonderful full service fishing experience.

My wife and I have visited WCL about 15 times (!) and it is by far one of the the best fishing paradises in SE Alaska (or perhaps anywhere). We have never "come up short" on our catch, and have enjoyed King Salmon, Silver Salmon, Halibut, Ling Cod (only limited catches allowed), True Cod, and there are optional freshwater opportunities for trout and Dolly Varden.

Fantastic guides (and you have the option to go self-guided if you'd like). The lodge provides all the gear you need and your catch is filleted and flash-frozen and ready to pack on the ferry back to Juneau on your return.

The day usually begins by your boat going out a few hundred yards and jigging for (the abundant) herring (for bait) and then you many choices of fishing spots, some within a few miles of the lodge.

Great breakfast and dinner at the lodge, and you pack a lunch for your day of fishing.

Note: alcohol cannot be served at the lodge, but you can bring your own spirits with you.

The fishing, food, and hospitality are top notch! Our captain (John Beath) kept us on the fish the whole time. Everyone at the lodge was friendly and accomodating. This is one of the best fishing experiences you could have!

I have been to WCL 5 times now, and each time my experience has been wonderful! The fishing is world class, the food is amazing, (prime rib and king crab on Saturday nights! What?!) and nothing compares to Whaler's Cove hospitality! I even surprised my wife one year and flew her up as well! it was her first time on a float plane, first time halibut fishing, and our guide had her on the fish almost immediately! We even visited the Baranoff hot springs and had a wonderful time there as well.
Amazing views, amazing fishing, amazing people (love you Mark & Christine!), what more can I say!? If you have never experienced Alaska, you owe it to yourself to experience it with Whaler's Cove Lodge! You won't be disappointed!

Our family made the best memories! Everything was so well orchestrated. The staff was amazing! The food was amazing! It was the best trip!
