Absolutely awesome place. I came from Ohio, and I knew very little about saltwater fishing and they were very helpful as to what I should buy for the best experience. I bought a fishing rod and going out the door. I accidentally shoved the tip against the door frame and broke the tip off. I picked up the tip and kept walking and they came after me and told me they will replace the rod, even though it was not their fault. Will definitely be going back if I’m ever in this area again.

My husband may enjoy shopping here nearly as much as he enjoyed fishing. Sending fish stories from Fred's Got Worms. Buy the cast net!!! Kids loved it!!

I don’t fish. I literally have no reason to buy bait or tackle. But I’ve made sure the beer stayed cold on plenty of fishing trips, which means I’ve stopped in my fair share of bait and tackle shops. Even though I purely stopped in because they have cigars, I still took a look around. They’ve got a super huge stock of practically everything you would need whether you’re going out on the boat, off the pier, or wading off the beach. As far as the cigar selection, it’s not huge, but it’s a walk-in humidor with plenty to choose from. A good selection of Drew Estates choices, Montecristo, Camacho, and others. The climate and humidity is spot on, I didn’t even have to rest them beside smoking one. Also, the prices are very reasonable, if not better than other places I have stopped before. All in all, super friendly staff at the perfect spot in Avon.

My husbands an avid fishermen and he says this is the best bait and tackle shop in southern OBX. 😀 There’s plenty of variety in fishing equipment, tackle and items needed for the beach as well as memorabilia and home made crafts and jewelry. The whiteboard at the entrance explains what fish are being caught on the piers for the day. Very nice staff. Clean, well stocked store and very nice clean bathroom inside.

I have visited a few tackle shops in the OBX that were just plain sorry when it came to customer service. Frank & Frans is top notch. Supplies, customer service, and knowledge were 6 stars!

Best bait shop on the island, all the fishing and apparel you need. Staff is friendly and very helpful.

Bought a rod and reel combo along with bait, weights and other tackle. A lot of assortment of tackle and such. There is also a humidor for those that like that sort of thing.

They have everything you need at a decent price and the folks there are great.

Mike helped me get set for a couple days of fishing. He took the time to check out my gear. Made great suggestions and even let me use one of his personal poles.

I have been going to Frank and Fran's for a very long time and it is great to see that even with the switch in owners the staff is still friendly as ever and knowledgeable about all things fishing.

Awesome place everyone was super nice and helpful! I came down from Tennessee and don’t know much about any saltwater fishing and they answered any questions I had and helped get me everything I needed.

Great place with great people and equipment for sale. I bought a shimano Sedona, in which I did not like. Took it back and they switched it out for a pen battle 3. Also fixed one of my rod tips in like 5 minutes. Definitely recommend coming here if you are in need of bait or tackle in Avon NC!

Been stopping in this shop for years whenever I visit Avon and they have always been wonderfully nice and helpful! After my visit this weekend, I felt the need to leave a review because I had ordered a beach cart online on late Friday night and they had it out of the box and put together and waiting for me to pick it up the next morning! Talk about customer service! I will always continue coming back here whenever I visit the Avon/Buxton area. Also, RIP to "Fran" who I heard passed away recently.
