What a wonderful museum. A room full of old and more recent genealogy books and land trusts along with military information like who served and where. The rest of the rooms were filled with items that were donated from the areas around Wallisville TX. Highly suggest stopping by

Wonderful small museum. Lots of history of the area. Went on Memorial Day. It doesn't cost to go. They had so many artifacts and pictures of those that served during the wars. People there were so knowledgeable about the history. Great place to take your children so they can learn and appreciate the sacrifices made.

This place is friggin' amazing(!). I find it absolutely incredible. Also incredible is how few people know how interesting and rich our Chambers County history truly is(!)... The displays here are truly EPIC.

You could spend weeks reading articles and studying artifacts from our past. Why did they name the town Hankamer? Murder mysteries: What ever happened to Sheriff Frost when he left for (or from, or did he ever leave?) the Moody Plantation? [yep... Moody Bank ancestry). Did one of today's prominent well-to-do families really come from an outfit of 1800's cattle rustlers?

The curator(s) are some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable folks around, also... you can really tell that they live what they do! Thanks for the time, & I'll definitely be back with the kids...

During a trip from Austin to Gulf Shores AL pulling our travel trailer our check engine light came on. We were able pull safely off the interstate and happened to wind up in the parking lot of the Chambers County Museum. And thank God we did because we were able to meet Ms. Tylene just before the museum opened. She allowed us to park the camper there while our truck was towed to a repair shop. She was so incredibly sweet, offered to get me some lunch when she went, visited with me about local history and even gave me her personal number to call if we needed anything. Thank you Tylene, we need more people like you in this world!
