Hughley's Southern Cuisine

Came on for"linner" at 2:30pm Tuesday. My wife and I were the only customers.
Regular-sized meal provided big portions! Eg, 4 drumsticks, or 5 large meaty ribs!
Served authentic southern tater salad, yum pork and beans

Visited here with my mother right before dropping her off at the airport and the food was great. We walked in, was greeted by a beautiful and friendly woman, given instructions, seated ourselves, then placed and paid for our order on our phone. The food came out shortly after. It was good and def recommend going. I got the oxtails and my mom got the catfish. I’d give it a 4/5 or 8/10. Very satisfied customer and will be back before my vacation ends

Hostess in the front is very welcoming and took the time to let me sample sides and provide a menu breakdown their sides are vegetarian. I ordered the fish/chicken plate with yams and okra followed by a side of red beans and rice and mac and cheese and hush puppies. The fish was seasoned perfectly fresh hot and crispy the sides weren’t lacking flavor I enjoyed the thickness of the filets they aren’t skimpy i paid about $44.43 and i have to say i enjoyed everything. The chicken could have been juicer but it wasnt dry to the point i didnt finish it.I will return in the future they are worth the price of admission.

Greens 8/10 I like a little heat or smoked Turkey in mine
Yams 9/10 I prefer texture or marshmallow
Smothered Pork chop 10/10 meat falling off of the bone
Catfish 10/10 hot fresh and well-seasoned (on my hubby's plate

Over all 10/10 my new favorite on the island

I wasn't expecting to eat Southern cuisine on this trip, but I'm so happy we ran into this place. The food is delicious, and the sweet tea reminded me of real Southern tea. I will recommend coming here.

We went on Sunday so they open at 1pm...we traveled from Waikiki as that is where we are vacationing, but we wanted to support a Black owned business while we were in Oahu. 🖤🙌🏽🏝...it did not disappoint. The only thing I would change is I wish the mac-n-cheese was baked with a crispy top...but it was decent.
The service was awesome, the food was amazing and we had a variety of differe t dishes. I bill was about $160 US not including tip, we was a party of 4. We left stuffed and had take away boxes...lol! We ordered too much food...as they say...our eyes bigger than our stomach. It's definitely a must!!

Let me start by saying there’s NO soul food place that I’ve ever ate at that’s even touching Hughley’s! This place is hands down the BEST soul food that I’ve had in ALL of Hawaii and probably the best from any food establishment. My son told me “Mom, respectfully, you might have competition!” and that’s saying A LOT because I throw down when it comes to soul food! I’m so happy to finally find a real soul food place here in Hawaii. We’re from the east coast (south). Everything was delicious (I had the fried pork chop, Mac and cheese, yams, greens and corn bread with an Arnold Palmer -sweet tea with lemonade). Just go, you won’t be disappointed… and it takes a lot to impress me and they’ve done just that. I and my family will be loyal customers!…. By the way, please excuse the photos, I started eating before taking pictures lol… oh and the staff were all lovely, sweet and kind. Our server was a young lady named Nia(I hope it’s spelled correctly). Excellent service all around!

Outstanding soul food eatery in Aiea! Best shrimp and grits I've ever had and my wife absolutely loved the fried pork chop, peach dumplings and cornbread! A+ highly recommend you give them a try!

The food was delicious. Mom ordered porkchops and gravy where the meat fell off the bone and was so tender with mashed and gravy. I got the excellent hot wings with fries. We definitely look forward to coming back. Mom said it was her favorite meal so far in Hawaii. She's southern at heart.

My wife and I had searched LONG and HARD for some REAL Soul Food on the island. Stumbled across Hughley’s Southern Cuisine” while on google. And mannnn I’m glad we did! Just WOW! The food was beyond AMAZING! Flavorful, hot and DELICIOUS!! Felt like we were back home in the South! Would recommend a million times! Do yourself and your tastebuds a favor and stop in and see for yourself!

Hughley's is the best southern food I've had on the island. The fried catfish po boy was phenomenal. The catfish was fried perfectly, not too battered that it lost its flavor, and the remoulade on top gave it a really great tangy finish. The mashed potatoes and gravy were seasoned really well, as were the wavy French fries. The sandwich also came with a drink(a pleasant surprise), and you know it had to be sweet tea. Just like I remember from growing up in Tennessee. I'll definitely be back to try the chicken and waffles.

I know what you may be thinking: A southern restaurant in Hawaii? Well let me just say this was surprisingly delicious. Everything here is homemade including the cornbread and ice cream. If you want to try something different around here, come here.

A ram in the bush! Truly amazing find in Hawaii . The owner is really kind and friendly and makes you feel welcome. Food was amazing and reminded me of that good ol' southern comfort food and fish fry Fridays. I had the catfish plate ($19+tax) and boy let me tell you! That food practically flew off the plate! And it is well worth the price! Generous portion size for the sides (red beans and rice and collard greens), about 2.5 hearty pieces of catfish cut into sections, and a personal mini cornbread loaf. The fish was fresh, juicy, and nice and tender and the seasoning was good too. The collard greens were probably my favorite as they are seasoned with a little kick, chopped for easy consumption, and contain no meat. (Just like my mom makes them) The fatback is not needed, you won't miss it! The restaurant gave me barbershop vibes (in a good way) and the jazz contemporary gospel music playing in the background was a great touch! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will be back again

We were just in the area looking for food and was happy to come across Hughley’s. Really good southern food. My pork chop was tender and my boyfriend’s Po boy had good flavor. Some meals come with a drink.

Excellent and quality service and food. Nice to have this as an option to hit up here in Hawaii when you are so far away from the East Coast.

Food, service, and atmosphere is the epitome of Southern hospitality. Felt like home away from home.

Amazing food. I was so excited to finally have some good soul food. Prices are not too bad and the restaurant is clean. We went on a Sunday and at 1:30- 2PM, it began to fill up fast. We will definitely be back.

This meal made me feel like I was at my grandma’s house on a Sunday after church . It was so delicious. Yes it is pricey but it definitely worth it . The staff is very attentive and sweet and the restaurant is super clean .

The best po boy I've ever had in my life. Sweet tea tasted like the kind my mamaw made in east TN. The potato salad and fried okra was top tier. The best southern food on the island, hands down, not even close.

The food reminds me of home.(Beaufort, SC) Simple yet flavorful. The smothered porkchops you can eat with a fork its so tender! I knkw why the catfish is a hot seller it was so good.
Anytime i am in the mood for southern food, this is the place to go!!!
