Had a Street Fighter Poster framed up for my man cave! Came out better than I could have imagined! Turnaround time wasn’t even two days! Kevin was very friendly and even came by the shop to open up around my schedule! Not something I’m used to these days. Would Highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional frame job!

Kevin is a total pro, 4th generation picture framer. I had purchased 2 small antique etchings as a gift, but they were framed in totally unacceptable 80s frames. I took them to Kevin, who carefully removed them from the old frames and mats. He really helped guide me through the process of selecting attractive but also safe/conservation-friendly mats and frames. Even though the etchings were by the same artist, they were totally different subjects, slightly different sizes, and different time periods, so I didn’t want them to look like a matched set, but I definitely wanted them to have a connected look. What we came up with was great-looking. His selection of frames is very, very good for a small shop. His prices were, in my view, incredibly reasonable, especially when you consider that what I got was something that will preserve these 100-yr-old etchings for the next 100 years!! For 2 custom pieces, with UV glass, I paid around $175. What a great experience. I will use Kevin for all my framing needs from now on.

I found a mirror the closet of a house I moved into and wanted to use it. I brought it to Custom Framing Company and Kevin helped me pick out the perfect frame , he cut the broken parts out the mirror and made it look brand new! I have had many pictures framed there since then and am always extremely satisfied. Much more reasonably priced than anywhere else as well! Would highly recommend this company.

I inherited an Italian painting and was/am so in love with it. So when I dropped it and the decorative plaster detail broke into a handful of pieces, my heart broke along with it. I’m still not sure how old it is, but it’s old, and I didn’t want just anybody messing with it.

Fortunately for me, the original framer’s company name and location were still adhered to the back. After a quick search, I called the number, half expecting the shop to have long closed. Instead, the original framer’s great-great-great grandson answered the phone. How great is that?!

I met Kevin at his modest shop on Acushnet Ave, and from the moment I walked in the door to when I returned to retrieve my finished item, my experience was exemplary, first class, quality work that could easily rival and possibly surpass much-higher-end framers in Boston or New York.

Kevin was able to retain a portion of the original frame and suggested the most perfect replacement for the damaged elements. Simply put: it was a masterful solution. And the painting now stands as one of my most prized possessions.

If you’re looking for the kind of fine quality craftsmanship and expertise that’s found in increasingly rare multi-generational family-owned shops like this, then look no further. I would highly recommend you stop here first with all your framing needs. You don’t need to entrust him with a 100-yr heirloom to be impressed. 😉

And his prices are more than fair! Mind you, this isn’t rinkie-dink Michael’s, but it’s more reasonable than many other places, including Rogers Gallery in Mattapoisett, which is where I used to go.

Kevin's work is excellent. He is always helpful with picking out the right frame and suggesting matting if it would enhance the picture. He is my absolute go-to for all of my framing. He is a great guy as well.

I have been a regular customer of Custom Framing since about 1979 in the days when Mr. Alves and his son, Kevin, ran the business together down the street from the Old Voke School, New Bedford. Custom Framing is the absolute best! They are creative and imaginative and Kevin always spends time with the customer to help choose the right mat and the right frame and whether something should be double-matted or without matting completely. I have never been disappointed by Custom Framing.

I had an antique frame I wanted reworked to house a record my daughter used to open with when we dj’d. She was killed on NYE & I really wasn't to coherent trying to explain how important it was that the frame be made out of the original cuz it was hers. Kevin was as understanding as anyone could be dealing with a crying mom. He did an awesome job & I am so grateful for the care he took in preserving her memory. 💔
