Reuben sandwich at Bouldin Creek Cafe was really yummy as was the salad I had! So nice to find a place with nourishing food in Austin. The blueberry cornbread was also indeed worth it and delicious. The staff are nice and helped my friend who got the jackfruit curry which was too spicy for her. It was busy but we were able to get seated pretty soon. Overall I would recommend it and I’m really happy this place exists. I appreciate the gluten free options as well.

Great place with a fun vibe and amazing menu.
Service was a bit slow but the food was super super tasty.
The dip was delicious, Austin fry was really good and the Tarzan salad was yummy. The portion size was great too.
Definitely recommend to vegans/ vegetarians.

Visiting from out of town, this restaurant quickly became our favorite spot! The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We were seated promptly, and our meals arrived without much of a wait. The restaurant, including the outdoor seating area, was clean. We loved it so much that we returned the next day for lunch again. The Reuben and Pad Thai were bursting with flavor, and even the gluten-free bread options for the veggie sandwich and burger were impressive. Highly recommend!

Had the pasta with some rosé and the blueberry cornbread for dessert. Wonderful veg comfort food after a long day, great outdoor space, wonderful service. They let me put up flyers too. I love their fair employment policy, will definitely be back!

My wife and I went with a few friends for brunch and we had an amazing time. The staff was super friendly and all dishes were amazing.
My favorite was their award winning veggie burger. I would definitely be back here again to try out more things in the menu.

FANTASTIC food!! The spicy chipotle pesto was amazing! Wish I could have brought a jar of it home. The curry was far better than we expected. Big portions of both.
My friend said the coffee was a bit weak, but my cortado was excellent!
Really friendly, relaxed service.
Chalkboard walls in the bathroom stalls with buckets of chalk provided 😁

Great spot to eat vegetarian and vegan meals! (Even if you are not 😉) they have plenty options in the menu!!!, so tasty!

I appreciate their Gluten free options!

They have a terrace for those who prefer to eat “Al fresco”

The service is good but sometimes they rush you to place the order

The decoration is colorful, so “Keep Austin weird” vibe!, art and paintings on the walls, interesting chandeliers, etc.

My favorite go-to place for Sunday breakfast! Mocha is great! Love the oven cake corn bread with eggs. Gets busy on Sunday around 9:30am so don't sleep in or you might have a wait. Great Austin vibe, what it used to be like in the 80's. Highly recommend the dining experience.

A true cultural asset, and epitomizes a kind of South Austin vibe I recall feeling from the late 80's and into the 1990's.
I had a great mid-day breakfast on the patio, with my friend and her dog. The menu is thoughtfully geared towards healthy choices for vegans and those without any preference--just really delicious food.
Waitstaff are personal, and are paid a living wage with a unique and wonderful 20% included on all food orders, so you can appreciate the care they take when serving your food.
Great place for a date, friendly reunion, cozy celebration, and soak up authentically South Austin vibes.

Charming, popular, iconic, fully-vegetarian brunch spot. I didn’t love the food, but the place has a lot of character, an awesome hangout spot. The chipotle pecan pesto was the tastiest out of the things I tried, so grab that as an add-on.

Bouldin Creek Cafe doesn’t take reservations. It was around a third full at opening but had people waiting in line by the time we finished our meal.

I recently checked out this vegetarian spot in Austin, and man, it was awesome! The place has this cool, hip vibe that’s just so Austin – perfect for grabbing a coffee and getting some work done or just chilling with a good meal.
Every bite was a flavor bomb, and it’s great for both veggie lovers and meat-eaters. I ended up going there two days in a row because it was that good.

The prices are super reasonable, especially for the quality and portion sizes you get. Plus, the staff are super friendly and helpful, which just makes the whole experience even better. Definitely a must-try spot in Austin for some delicious veggie eats in a laid-back, cool setting.

Love this place! Established in 2000, Bouldin Creek Cafe keeps the vibes of “old Austin” alive and well. The food is amazing (I recommend the lunch specials), they have gluten free bread options, and the staff is attentive and kind. Great place to come and hang out, meet people and feel like you’re part of the community.

This is definitely a must go place for vegan and vegetarian food. The Tarzen big salad was so filling, refreshing and filled with portobellos and broccoli. The veggie royale is also a great choice for a burger sandwich fusion. Many vegan eateries have high amount of salt and soy, but this place uses fresh and in house ingredients. The ambience was quite busy and the tables were kinda sticky, but those didn’t matter because the food was delicious!

Stopped here to catch up with friends while traveling. Eat outside at night for a Tumblr aesthetic. Great food, great service and not a bad price for what you get. The blueberry cornbread changed me. Not much in way of parking but it's worth hunting for a spot or maybe ride sharing. Support this eclectic business with a variety of food for everyone!

I would travel to Austin just for this. My partner and I were in town for just one night while passing through on a road trip, and we’re so glad we chose this spot for breakfast on our way out.

The vibe is definitely unique and cool. There are so many little, special touches - from the collection of different light fixtures (my favorite was either the one made from bicycle tires or the one made from paintbrushes) to the wall art to the little image of Totoro painted on a shelf. It’s eccentric and fun.

We were greeted by a host who exuded that air of effortless coolness, where they don’t need to try or care. Maybe because they are paid a livable wage, so they can just be themselves? After we were shown to a table we were quickly greeted by our very sweet, attentive waitress with a killer outfit who kindly helped us decide between our options. If you only get one shot at a restaurant and don’t know when you’ll get the chance to return, you want to pick the right items! I was pleased to see that they treat and pay their staff well here. I’m sure it contributes to the excellent service.

The food blew our minds. The pesto is out of this world; I wish I had the recipe for it. The queso with chorizo is incredible. The blueberry cornbread was scrumptious. Great coffee, too! Everything was to die for. I wish I lived here just so I could eat my way through the whole menu. They’re doing something very right here.

This is the best vegan place I have eaten in a long time.
It is very popular, so expect a wait time during weekends at least, and getting a parking at back of the restaurant in this entire area is a pain.
The food was absolutely gorgeous though.
Their pesto hit the ball outta the park, the pasta & fajita both were very tasty, great portions and delicious ingredients.

Most memorable dish ever.
I experienced culinary nirvana here. There is a jack fruit massaman curry dish that comes with brown rice.

It was so good I had to come back the following day to try it again just to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

It was not a fluke.

They have an incredible list if vegan meals but that Jack fruit massaman curry is extraordinary.
I paired it the second day with their corner. Please check it out!

Great options for vegetarians and vegans! We dined here twice once for brunch and once for lunch and was a pleasant experience both times. There could be wait, so plan accordingly.

We started off with the charcuterie board. While the cheese was amazing, the presentation was lacking so I was a bit nervous how the rest of the meal was going to go. The dish called for antipasto but it just came with some apple slices and cucumber.

We also got the cornbread which was really tasty, moist, and was plaited with a delicious chipotle sauce.

For mains we got the Le Dona grilled cheese and chickpea salad sandwich. Both were stellar! The grilled cheese has the gooey texture you’d expect from dairy cheese and the chorizo adds nice texture and spice. The chickpea salad sandwich was fresh and will not leave you hungry.

We ended with the chocolate chip cookie. It tasted more like an oatmeal chocolate chip. There’s an option to heat it up which is great.

We will definitely be back, especially to try their breakfast!

My top fav restaurant in Austin, hands down. Be it the food, service, or ambience, it's incredible.

Every time I've been here, the staff has been super welcoming and easy to talk to. They're enthusiastic and not overbearing whatsoever. They are super helpful when it comes to recommending food items and working around food restrictions, and if you tell them what you're in the mood for, they can tell you what they'd think you might like easily. It's very easy to trust their recommendations.

The portion sizes are large; for the price of each item it's amazing. Too much for me, but the food is nice at home too.

The jackfruit curry is a solid 9.5/10, absolutely amazing as well. It's mild, warm, and slightly sweet, pairing well with the spices. It's really hearty, and the sweet potato in it is great. It smells SO good!

The tacos are a 9/10. Super fresh ingredients here all around, really tasty. The refried black beans in particular are nice.

The tofu broccoli salad is really fresh, and the sauces it comes with are really flavorful. Compared to the rest of the menu, it's a little less filling, which is necessary for the hearty items common in the rest of the entrees.

I regularly get the veggie royale with the pecan pesto and it is just so good!! Maybe slightly dry but the burger tastes PHENOMENAL and pairs with the pesto super well.

That spicy pecan pesto in particular is godly. We usually get it with tortilla chips due to dietary restrictions, and oh my god it has to be the best appetizer I've ever eaten at a restaurant. It's smoky, salty, nutty, sweet, and a little spicy too. Amazing. I can't reccomend it enough.

The guacamole here is basically just a smokier, spicier version of a normal one. Maybe a slightly sweet aftertaste. It wasn't as great as the pesto, but it's not bad at all. If you're a guac lover I would recommend it.

The hazelnut affogato is phenomenal. Super dark hazelnut expresso (the high quality stuff) with light and sweet vanilla ice cream. Definitely the favorite dessert of my family. Really strong coffee taste that's mellowed by the ice cream. Absolutely amazing.

The brookie is definitely my favorite. It's gluten free, rich, chocolatey, and a little dry, so it pairs great with the vegan vanilla ice cream add on. I wouldn't recommend it without the vanilla ice cream, though.

I personally didn't like the London fog because I had never tried earl grey before. I thought they had poured lavender in it or something... But if you like that kind of thing you're definitely going to enjoy it. It's warm and sweet, still high quality.

The deserts tend to be small, but they taste incredible.

Other than that, I'd like to mention the fact they highlight artists and helpful organizations. They tend to get busy, so they keep water outside as well.
