Spent a delightful few days here. Such a beautiful oasis for a retreat. The grounds are beautiful, the history is fascinating, the buildings are wonderfully old. All this is only superseded by the beauty of the sisters who live here. In the presence of their hospitality my heart relaxes and I am reminded of Jesus. In my opinion, it would benefit anyone's heart to step outside of the furor of life for a space and savor the slower pace of monastic life with these beautiful sisters.

It brought back memories of 55+ years ago. The sisters are absolutely wonderful and deserve our support!

This place may just be the midwest's best kept secret. The sister's garden, keep bees, harness solar energy and support good things. The grounds and the buildings are simply awe inspiring. I love this place.

And the teacher, if he (or she) is truly wise. They will not bid you enter the house of their own wisdom. Instead they will lead you to the threshold of your own mind.

Whether attending workshops in Sophia Center, making a private retreat, visiting the gift shop full of their hand-made goods or just plain visiting, stopping by Mount St Scholastica is always a blessing. The Kansas City area is fortunate to have such an active and welcoming spiritual center so close.

This wonderful monastery is home to a retreat center where you can find peace and quiet to stop and take time to listen for God.

Next to the cathedral is a nursing home for retired nuns. What's not to love about sisters of the church taking care of their elderly sisters when they need it the most?

Very kind group of young college folks, they make my day when they come by on Saturdays, also very helpful.

The love and spirituality ofof this community is palpable, and the peace that enfolds the entire place is inspiring.
