This fortress is very close to the main one, deserves a visit. Please consider not to enter if you wear sandals or flat shoes (like flat sneakers): to reach the entrance from the park you have to turn around the building. If you turn left you will find a small entrance and you have to climb a 2 mt wall, if you turn right around, the path is easier and the entrance bigger with steps, but the ground is friable and if you are scared of heights, please resign. The fortress have a external walk around but the southern path needs good shoes.

You need to rent a car with a driver (which is very affordable in Uzb). Certainly one of the best historical places you can reach.

Ayazkala located quite far from Kyzylkala and Topirakkala, it took about 3 hours from Nukus. The Ayazkala was the most difficult one to go up among other kalas(Kizil kala and Toprak kala) since we had to go up on the sand and rocks. Nevertheless all that hard work was worth it, as the view on the top of the Ayazkala was exceptionally perfect, especially since we went there in the sunset. As Topirakkala, it is also costs money in Ayazkala( the same with Topirakkala, 10 000 sum (10$ per person). Moreover, there are all the facilities near the Ayazkala and you can enjoy playing on the swing in marvelous scenery.

I have been there in March 17. The fortress consists actually of 3 independent fortresses. Ayaz Kala 2 ist the middle one. You can walk up to it. From there you have a wonderful view over the area and especially on the bigger brother Ayaz Kala 1. I actually liked both of them, but the view from fortress 1 is of course much better. From fortress 3 are just the foundations left and not so much to see there. If you have the chance, stay there for couple of hours an enjoy the view from both fortresses. One of the best historical places I have been in Uzbekistan.

There used to be 3 fortresses here. The first one is inexistent due to the status in which remains, the second one and third one are impressive. Nice view of all the territory from there

This fortress is in the Kyzylkum desert in the middle of nowhere. My guide drove me here and it was a wonderful experience. There was no crowd at all when I visited.

After visiting Toprak kala we continued our trip to Ayaz kala. We paid 10,000 soums for entering the kala. Because we had little time we could see only one part of the Ayaz kala, and it was said to be one of three hills. It was difficult to reach the top of the Ayaz kala because there were no stairs as the previous ones and we had already been tired from walking. There were a lot of stones and sand that made our walk much more tiring. However, we got to the top of the kala and had the chance to view the sunset. It was the most beautiful scene I have ever seen.

Very nice place and easy to access to via tours organised in khiva. Amazing walks around the camp, but STAY AWAY FROM THE FOOD. Food poisoning guaranteed

Ayaz Kala is a windswept and eroded fortress in the region of Karakalpakstan. Now it presides over empty desert in a region not many are fortunate to visit. It's starkly beautiful however, and worth visiting (along with other ruins), on a day trip from Khiva, or to stay overnight in the nearby yurt camp.
