The first time I visited here by the boat with day trip. It was not interesting for me because so dirty, so much trash and people sell souvenir stuffs around.
When I see they offer helicopters and seaplanes to enjoy the bay from above, I decided to give a try and I love it. The view is incredible! The trip also show me a part of that city too, so beautiful. Total flying time will be roundly 30 minutes.

Unbelievable place...
Must visit in vietnam. If you are solo traveler then book day trip to Hanoi. Price of Hanoi to Hanoi round trip is around 1 million dong including Hanoi to ha long bay by bus, cruise, ha long bay entry ticket, lunch, snacks, boat ride & back to your hotel.
This is totally value for money.

A stunning place to visit with an enjoyable boat ride to explore the surrounding caves!
Ha Long Bay is the highlight and a must-visit spot in Vietnam. It was mesmerizing to experience the tranquil surroundings of the bay with a relaxing boat tour. Alternatively, visitors can also choose to experience the sea kayak expedition to explore the different caves.

The limestone karst in Hạ Long Bay has developed over 20 million years. It was once beneath an ocean. Going inside the hollow interior of a karst was unforgettable. There’s no such thing as stress in Hạ Long Bay, friends.

On a cruise around halong bay, looks incredible during the day, but very sad a night as there was loads of rubbish in the sea that flows at night

This is a breathtaking place. One of the most amazing places, I've had the occasion to see. The day I visited, it was breathtaking just after a typhoon. Had spells of rain interspersed with sunshine. Truly a world heritage place. Hopefully they are able to cut down on plastic litter....

It’s definitely become a tourist attraction as is most places now a days. However it’s still majestic. If you can ignore the crowds and simply take in nature as it is you find yourself in awe. The views from your big boat are nice but take time to get in a canoe. You really see the scale of things up close and there’s something incredibly calming on the water. The journey from Hanoi is rather long but when you’re floating beneath a massive with the lights reflecting off the water and onto the rocks, it’s all worth it.

Stunning Landscapes with Unique Rock Formations
A group of 7 of us visited Ha Long Bay on a day tour on 16th January 2018. We embarked the boat at the wharf on Tuan Chau Island at about 1030 am after travelling in a tour bus for 170 km from Hanoi. The guide purchased the tickets for the tour. Though we were not offered life jackets I presume they are available should the need arise.
When we visited on 16th January 2018, though it did not rain, unfortunately the sky was somewhat gloomy with the reddish yellow sun filtering through the grey clouds. The weather was quite comfortable at a temperature of around 20 degrees centigrade.
The guide explained to us that Ha Long Bay is a World Heritage Site due to its unique geological formations and magnificent glorious limestone formations rising above the waters as well as due to historical and cultural importance. He explained that “Ha Long” in Vietnamese means “Descending Dragon”. The origin of “Ha Long” relates to a Vietnamese legend. When Vietnam was invaded by the enemy, the Jade Emperor, a supreme deity, despatched the Mother Dragon together with her child dragons to protect the people. These dragons emitted pearls of various sizes that were transformed to rocks rising out of the sea creating a wall of islands on to which the enemy vessels crashed. After the Vietnamese won the war the dragons stayed back and the place where the mother dragon descended is the “Ha Long” bay.
As we saw from the number of boats on the river it is also a very popular destination for tourists both local and foreign. Ha Long Bay has developed significantly over the years geared mainly towards tourism. The many rocks rising out of the sea are magnificent and a must see. The two little rocks resembling a “cock fight” attracted me most. Another of these rocks appear in the 20000 dong currency note.
