Sunset on Diksam Plateau

Diksam Plateau is in the center of Socotra at a significant elevation between 2000-3000 feet. Here, you get the highest concentration of the iconic dragon blood trees that are the most recognized symbol of the island (in fact, it’s featured on the Yemeni coins). There are hundreds and maybe thousands of dragon blood trees here and the best time to witness this is during the sunset with silhouettes of the umbrella-like trees set against the red sun or glowing in the orange sunset glow.

One of the most beautiful places I ever have been. The climate is truly amazing. All green with beautiful dragon blood trees everywhere.. Temperature is really truly amazing and cool. Calm and quiet area. Best holiday hideout. But unfortunately the place is not accessible for public. Got an opportunity to visit this place as a part of my job.

Truly one of the most amazing places in the world. The weather is cool and nice. Many endemic plants and amazing wadis. The forest of blood Dragon Trees is very fascinating.

It is a national park and the dragon blood trees sanctuary .. a very beautiful area where you can camp and spend your time between the wonderful nature

ÚNICO EN EL MUNDO. Existen otros lugares con los extraños dragos (Canarias, Somalia, Omán, Cabo Verde) pero solo en Socotra existe un bosque maravilloso de dragos: el Rokeb Firmhin en Diksan y no durará muchas décadas, pues está en franco retroceso, como el resto de dragos en el mundo. El sobrepastoreo de cabras y la extracción de su savia, color sangre, son sus principales enemigos.

وتعد جزيرة سقطرى اليمنيه من أجمل الجزر في العالم وأجملها على الإطلاق لوجود نباتات وأشجار و طيور غير موجوده في في الكوكب الا في سقطرى اليمنيه.
جزيره سقطرى تنفرد بطبيعه خاصه بها عن باقي العالم، كل شئ فيها جميل وبديع جدا.
وتعد جزيرة سقطرى محميه طبيعيه ضمن محافظة ارخبيل سقطرى يقع في شمال غرب المحيط الهندي، بالقرب من خليج عدن، ويمتد على مساحة 250 كلم. يشمل أربع جزر وجزيرتين صخريتين صغيرتين ومن حيث التنوع الكبير في نباتاته ونسبة الأنواع المستوطنة: ذلك أن 73% من أنواع النباتات (من أصل 528 نوعاً) و09% من أنواع الزواحف و59% من أنواع الحلزونيات البرية المتواجدة فيه غير موجودة في أي مناطق أخرى من العالم. أما بالنسبة للعصافير، فالموقع يؤوي أنواعاً هامة على المستوى العالمي (291 نوعاً، يتوالد 44 منها في الجزر، فيما يهاجر 58 منها بانتظام)، ومن بينها بعض الأنواع المهددة بالانقراض. وتتميز الحياة البحرية في سقطرى بتنوع كبير، مع تواجد 352 نوعاً من المرجان الباني للشعب، و730 نوعاً من الأسماك الساحلية، و300 نوع من السراطين والكركند والإربيان.
وقد تم تصنيف أرخبيل سقطرى من قبل اليونيسكو في قائمة التراث العالمي انضمامه عام 2008
