Well worth the visit here. We learnt so much about the area and history of the winery. The types of grape, the process of turning them into wine. Then we had the tasting along with a great sharing platter. Our thanks to Simon for being an excellent host throughout.

If you are a fan of good wine and a unique environment, you should not miss the tasting at the Monastery Winery. It is located on the bank of a river, under a relatively recently built monastery... and all around is green! The hosts are impeccable, everyone is cheerful, and the brandy and wine are truly exceptional.

Decided to book this last minute to duck out of the little bit of rain. So glad we did as it was a lovely trip. Great portion of charcuterie and some amazing wines and spirits to try. The staff are all so friendly, the two lovely dogs were an added bonus for me! and we bought some wine to take back to the hotel with us too. Highly recommend

Kesinlikle gelmeniz gereken harika bir mekan.
Perfect place, perfect experience! Every wine you taste has a story behind and the storytelling was amazing. Be sure to add this place to your trip list for Ohrid.
After a warm welcoming, you will start the production area tour that has a surprise at the end, then you will be taken for wine tasting and menu selections will be made. For the cheese plate which included in the tasting menu, you will asked if there are any products you do not eat and then it will prepared specially for you. The employees are very caring and friendly people, we would like to thank all of them again, hope to see you again 🌸

What a beautiful experience! This was our first wine tasting experience and it has set the bar high. Transport from Ohrid old town was organised for a small extra fee and the driver made an effort to tell us interesting facts about the villages we drove through.

The tour itself was really accessible and informative. The wines we tried were some of the best I've ever tried. Simon and his staff were super friendly and attentive. This felt like a premium experience but also personal and relaxed. No faults! 10/10 reccomend.

We've been to many wine tastings around the world, but this one is the best we've enjoyed. It's a small, family owned winery about 20 minutes drive from Lake Ohrid (if you don't have a car, at least book a transfer or tour and don't miss this experience).
Stefan welcomed us and showed us around their facility, and shared with us a lot of information about wine production in Macedonia, and how their winery came about to be.
Then, Yovana (sorry if I mispelled your name) brought us a delicious charcuterie board, and proceeded with a well paced wine tasting (we'd reserved the "Art of Wine" tasting for 2 hours) with some of the best wines we've had in our travels. Our favorite was the "King David" red ( Stefan shared it was named after his son 🙂).
It was such a peaceful and relaxing outdoor seating area that we lost track of time and stayed almost four hours, enjoying great wine, good conversation with everyone and wonderful views. Thank you for an incredible afternoon!

Must visit! We stubled across this gem because of the signs on the road. To get here you drive through a cute village for 2 minutes and then 2 minutes of unpaved, but very stable, road. Just follow the signs!

The hosts immediately made us feel very welcome. The owner unexpectatly gaves us a tour of the winery, a blessing to see someone who is so passionate about his work!

Afterward we did the local wine tasting which came with the best cheese and meat snacks all local. The wines were very special. Just go explore!

This was definitely the best expirience we had during our whole trip to Ohrid and Macedonia - wine is amazing and so it’s the food.

Very special location just besides an old manastery. Dragan and Simon are the perfect hosts, making wine tasting just perfect - good wine, good food, good company.

Make sure you don’t miss this place when visiting Ohrid!

Words can't describe how amazing our visit was. Firstly we only wanted to buy some bottles to go but we ended up here for 5 hours, ate delicious food and drank lovely wine while talking to the owner and his friends. Don't be afraind while going there, the route is not the best but it is definetly worth it, this place has amazing atmosphere and you won't regret this. We hope that you'll be doing great, Stefan, we are going to come back one day for sure! Thanks again, we will rember this lovely evening forever!
Wish you the best👋

This was without a doubt the best experience I have ever had in Macedonia. The wines are absolutely fantastic, ambience is beautiful. Our host Stephan was very very good. This was not loka a wine tasting in a restaurant. This was like we meet with our friends and try different wines and enjoy ourselves. Please try this wonderful place.

Amazeing experience, the hosts went above and beyond to make the experience memorable, from the guy who picked us up fron kelista (about half an hour away) and took us to see the volcano (geothermal feature) on the way and helped us get takeout on the way back. To the guy who took us around the monestry and winery and gave us a lovely tour around at our own pace, and the lovely lady who served us our wines and food. The setting was beautiful and the atmosphere was easy. We made friends with the monestry dogs who made the experience extra lovely.

I suffer from fatigue and cant walk far, sometimes use a wheelchair, the tour is short and there was a barrel/seat i could sit on in both rooms, of the winery tour but the monestry would be difficult to navigate by those less able as its up a (very short) hill and some steps.

As said in other recent reviews this is an amazing trip, Simon took us on a tour of the winery and explained the process of distilling the Wine and Raki. The wine tasting and food were excellent as were the girls serving who also had extensive knowledge of the wines. This is a must do trip if you are in Ohrid, they pick you up from the centre, but you can also make your own way there as a walk in. The mini bus got a flat tyre while we were there, but no worries they gave us extra wine while we waited. Also a mention for the two dogs who were so good natured but not a bother in anyway.Thank you Monastery wine for a great day.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! While taking a taxi may cost around 500-700 Denars, it's unquestionably worth it. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed, and as we traveled during the off-season, we had the opportunity to enjoy a private tour. Despite being a relatively small winery with only two staff members, they excel in creating a welcoming atmosphere and genuinely care about accommodating your personal preferences. For instance, we neglected to mention beforehand that we were both vegetarian. Stefan, our host, responded by providing us with an even larger cheese plate and went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home. Overall, the atmosphere was delightful and exceptionally friendly, complemented by delicious traditional Macedonian wines and new offerings from the monastery winery. While getting there required a bit of a journey, it's a journey we wholeheartedly recommend everyone to experience!

We went here for my husbands birthday. The transfer was on time, very good driver. The place itself is beautiful. A nice tour, not too long and very informative. Tasting was very good, great wines, good food. Everyone was very kind and professional, we could taste a lot of different wines and spirits for a fair price. We enjoyed our time here so much! A must see when you're in Macedonia!

We planned to stay for 2 hours, but it happened to be 4 hours of joy. Very warm and personal wine tasting. Small producers who take very good care of their guests and created a very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

We had a great time doing a mountain hike and wine tasting. Filip was a great guide and host and really took fantastic care of us the whole time we were there.
The wine was delicious and they also have orange wine and a variety of rakia to try. They made us a special vegetarian plate and were very helpful with booking and accommodating us.
This is only the second year that they are open so I expect that they will continue to get better and better.

It's so easy to fall in love with this place.
I regularly visit it.
The atmosphere is excellent. Timeless peace, rustic setting, a lovely small river spices up the experience.
I'm not much of a drinker, but have sampled all their wines and spirits, and love them all. Especially their dark red wines.
Highly recommended place for anyone that prefers rural tourism without being ridiculously secluded from civilization.
It's only 20 minutes drive from Ohrid, so you get the best of both worlds.
