Great place to check out homestyle comfort food of Argentina.
When the waiter politely advises 2 starters & main between 3 people, it is a friendly warning not a suggestion… food is really really good and if you over order you will end up eating way too much! Huge portions of great tasting home cooked dishes and an amazing selection of reasonably priced wine, you cant lose.

Highly recommend. We could not eat everything, which was devastating because it tasted so good. The empanadas and asado were beyond delicious, and it was all a VERY reasonable price.

Great food and excellent atmosphere and staff.
The idea that everything is to share is great. Everything we had was excellent!! And the staff was extremely kind. There are a lot of locals and everything you get seems to be homemade as they say. Highly recommended probably best food in town!

Despite being a bit unenthusiastic with the menu options when i sat down (just a personal thing of that specific moment)...the meal quickly became one of the highlights of my trip.
Great ambiance and attention, Marcos was a very professional and attentive waiter.

Recommended to this restaurant by recent travellers to Mendoza. Meals are to be shared by 2 people, so we chose the Shepherds Pie, it was more than enough for 3 persons! Very nice and lots of shredded beef in the base topped with mashed potato.

Had the duche del leche dessert, which was included in the price, again excellent, really glad we didn't go for a starter. All accompanied by a bottle of Sauvignon Nl3, from Argentina, of course.

Great food, Good variety for “meatarians” and vegetarians, Servings alil huge for 2 people (but i wont complain), Great ambience and service and their Lemonade is “OFF THE CHART!” - Delicious, tangy, sends tingles down the spine and leaves you thirsty for more!

Such a cute place with a lovely breezy terrace in the back. Food was amazing and huge portions, free bread and olive oil, local wine was cheap and delicious, service was great (thanks Lucas!) definitely recommend for a stop in Mendoza.

Service was amazing. Serving was more than plenty. Bread was delicious. Ingredients were fresh. Ordered lasagna, different and absolutely love it (my kids did not because they don't like veggies and there's a lot of spinach which I love), size is good for 4 people, 2 appetizers (empanadas and pulled chicken) that were delicious as well. Free water, bread and 2 desserts per entree. A must visit in Mendoza City!

Food Highlight for us in Mendoza! Service was attentive, super friendly and the waiter spoke Spanish slower for us which was amazing as we understood everything! Bread was very tasty, as were the cheese empanadas and jamon! But what stood out was the shepherds pie! Plenty of food, too much to even be able to enjoy the dessert options sadly. But we would definitely recommend, but costs are higher than a lot of places, so maybe stick to the main only as it can be shared and desserts are offered on top of this.

Love this place! The wines, the food, the place itself and most importantly: the service! Our waitress Paula was the best! She was super friendly and helped us with our choices. The dishes are quite large, so don't order too much 😉

Great place with an awesome service. Our waiter Lucas was an amazing advisor. It is worth coming here to enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace acompanied with tasty food.

The experience was great they treated us as your grandmother would, and that's the idea of the restaurant. The plates are all meant for two or three and they are really tasteful, cheap, and again plainfull. The options are good, the prices are correct, and the attention was great. I am totally going to return and of course
Eat one of those plates for two for myself. I really recommend this place if you are nearby, a tourist, or just want to try a mix of something different than a formal restaurant and good food.

I loved everything about Fuente y Fonda-the food, decor, service, wine, concept, vibe, etc. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in an unpretentious way, it’s very cozy. I love the concept of meals to share. Our server (unfortunately I’ve forgotten his name) was incredible attentive, friendly, and offered fantastic recommendations. My husband, friend, and I shared a bottle of delectable wine, the provolone appetizer, and canalones. Trust me, the canalones are big enough to share between three people! We also got complimentary bread with dipping sauce and a dessert which apparently comes free with the main course. The quality of the food is top-notch. I cannot stress enough how delicious this meal was and for a great price.
We didn’t have a reservation and we able to get a table after 15 minutes, but that was during the week. I’d recommend making a reservation to be sure you can snag a table.

If you're looking for local flavor and traditional Argentine food (not grilled steak), this is the place. All the staples are here, lovingly cooked by a pleasant staff whose dedication to service is way above the usual (low) standards of Mendoza. Great choice for an evening out.

Great local restaurant! Super friendly staff who accommodated our lack of Spanish. Had the meat empanada and the hake fish dinner (which is more like for 2.5 or 3!). The empanadas were very good and the red sauce made it even better! The hake was very good as well and was not as heavy of a sauce as we thought, which was great. Definitely recommended!
