Sporthotel Wagrain

Firstly, thanks to the chefs, cooks and kitchen crew. The meals were top-notch, tasty and versatile. All the soups were tasty and worth a second scoop.

The rooms are so well thought out and practical with small usable balcony.
The room temperature was good, and sometimes too hot but the balcony widow was useful to let in some cold air.
You get new towels daily, you get spa retreat towels, bath robes.
The services, from restaurant, to bar, to room service and every service within the hotel was excellent. The staff and friendly and welcoming.
The location is few minutes away from the gondola, so it is definitely a great choice for ski.
This hotel is both modern and traditional. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in terms of service and practicality.
The outdoor pool have a beautiful view.
Nice relaxing/spa area.
The ski lockers are also well thought out with heating equipment.

Cons
This is a hotel with people from different backgrounds and culture, I think the idea of naked sauna is not fair to people with different school of thought who would love to enjoy this facility. Please reconsider this.

Just returned from a week skiing in Wagrain (March 2023). Hotel very pleasant and room spacious with excellent storage. Large bathroom with walk in shower. We had a small balcony which was nice. Most of the staff spoke a reasonable level of English to get by. English menus provided to describe evening meals which was useful. Breakfast extensive with good choices for all types of hunger levels. Dinner was delicious and varied with mix of full buffet / a la carte and gala dinners throughout the week we were there. They also had a reduced gluten / dairy free option. Hotel is large so restaurant can get quite noisy. We were seated in a more modern add on to the restaurant which was nice as it was slightly away from buffet. Hotel seems to be popular with large groups so bear that in mind. Snack time in bar from 1500-1700 with choices of hot food, soups and cakes etc (provided in cost of booking) was much appreciated to tide you over before dinner - you only had to pay for your drinks. Spa area on 5th floor (adults only) was excellent. Infinity pool (heated) and steam and sauna area. Spa towels and dressing gowns provided in room along with spa bag and spa slippers provided on request. Water provided and snack area in reception with cakes and coffees from 1500-1700. Indoor pool was more old fashioned but good for kids. It has a small area that is outdoor but spa area on 5th floor is much better. Private locker storage area for skis and boots with a boot warmer which was great. Ski rental on the ground floor which also did ski servicing if you brought your own skis (€39 for full service). Mini bar in room was stocked with soft drinks and water and quite reasonably priced (€4 for cola). The ski lift to take you up to the top is across the road which is great. An iron and ironing broad can be provided on request. You're provided with a jug and 2 glasses for the delicious mountain water straight from the tap. This was a nice touch.

Only areas I would say for improvement are small:
- additional larger (ideally firmer) pillow on beds (only pillows that are provided are one large Austrian style pillow and additional small pillow. They are very soft so don't have much support in the neck
- larger bath towels (they are very small)
- staff at reception seemed a little abrupt but it could have been just a nervousness about speaking English (my German isn't brilliant)
- it would have been good to seat couples / just adults away from larger groups. Was often difficult to hear at dinner if the loud groups were particularly noisy.

I would return to stay if i was in Wagrain again.

Great modern hotel in a great location. The rooms are large and conformable. The beds are large and firm just right. A small balcony is useful. Small fridge, safe, bathrobes, all is provided. Air-conditioning is sadly missing, which is a weird choice for a new hotel.
The food is amazing, every time many choices and so tasty. Some fresh pancakes at the breakfast would be great though. The bar is also very pleasant place, especially in the evening. It was usually full yet it didn't feel crowded. Only the afternoon snack could be improved, there were only dry cakes which didn't really look appealing.
All the staff we met were super friendly and nice. Especially at the restaurant and the bar.
The wellness areas are superb. The upper one has a great outdoor pool with a couple of saunas. It's the more crowded one. The lower vital world is even better in my opinion. Indoor and outdoor pool and many saunas to choose from. In the summer there were only a couple of people, but I bet it's really popular in the winter.
All in all a great hotel for a higher price, but it's worth it.

Nice hotel with very friendly and accommodating staff. Ideally located for skiing. Rich breakfast buffet. Couldn't think of anything missing out. Absolutely recommendable. Properly heated outdoor pool is a nice extra.

Great place for skiing. Right by the lift and what’s equally important great food and the entire staff ensured a good atmosphere. The new spa and fitness area are exceptionally nice. We were hanging out in the outdoor pools everyday after skiiing. The room were of high quality as well. The kids enjoyed the indoor play areas as well. Skirental in the basement. Would go again !

Lovely wellnes spa hotel. Located in the small town Wagrain. Inside the hotel you have all the services: fitness room, spa, sauna, inside pool, infinity outside pool, breakfast, dinner, bar and much more for relaxation vacation. Around and not far you can visit famous sites and other towns. The staff and the service are excellent. Sure we will come back again.

One of the best hotels we have visited. The food was delicious, the rooms very clean and there are a lot of things to do nearby the hotel for everybody. Our sons (15 and 12) loved it.

Great family hotel, nice food and service. Loved the outdoor swimming during wintertime. Very practical that I was able to rent skies on site for my son. Very close to a major lift in Wagrain

We stayed at the Sporthotel in summertime 20 years ago and we liked it a lot. This winter, we came back and found it to be even better. Located just next to the Grafenberg ski lifts in Wagrain, it is the perfect place to explore the Ski Amade resort. Plenty of activities are organised for non-skieers. All rooms have been stylishly renovated and breathe high class.
We will come back for sure.
