It's such a beautiful lake in Austria. And the way we drove there is also scenic. I enjoy every part of the lake and the route. There's a camping area close to the lake, would be cool in the summer to stay there.

Fantastic lake in Austria near to Germany border. If you are around Neuschwanstein castle then would highly recommend. One can do trekking around the lake & mountains or just a picnic with family around this fantastic lake. If you are traveling by road from Germany the the trip to this Lake is via B179 route which is toll free & one doesn’t need any Austrian vignette.

The most beautiful lake I've been to. About 1hr 30mins drive from Munich. Great lake to spend the day with family and friends.

Beautiful location and cool and clean water. We stayed at one of the campa sites and could enjoy the beautiful lake for a few morning. Best times were at sunrise, when the fog slowly lifts from the lake and the first rays of sun warm up the cool drops of water.

Huge and very beautiful lake on the way from Schwangau to Garmisch. Stopped few times to take some amazing pics. The drive along the lake is very pleasant. Highly recommend this place.

You gotta go! It's amazing! I truly think it gives the nearby Eibsee a run for it's money. The water was so clear and had the prettiest of colors. There is a hiking trail that will take you to the top of a mountain where you can get a bird's eye view of the lake!

Absolutely stunning. I always thought the water was photoshopped green in most images but it's just like that. Wake up early and just check the mist rolling in. You can rent a bike or just hike your way up the top. Crazy views and so peaceful!

Very nice area close to the German border. Great for hiking, biking, swimming and other watersports. There are dedicated beaches for people with dogs, so you can swim here with your furry friend. Good to know is that everyone cleans up after them self. The water in the lake is crystal clear, but also very cold. In the summer time it can be very busy this hard to get a parking space. There is a camping located next to the lake, but we dropped in from Oberammergau, DEU.
Parking next to the restaurant is only €3 for the whole day.

One of the most beautiful lakes in Austria. It is right across the border from Germany.
We rented a SUP there. It costed 35 euro for 2 hours.
The places can be crowded on sunny day. Still worth the visit.

A piece of heaven ❤ I really can't describe it. So clean, so organized, beautiful, stunning and perfectly splendid ❤ you can drive around the lake and stop by a beautiful spots to take photos or you can go for a walk around the lake which will be the best option ever. There is a paid parking where you can park and go. Also, you can rent a boat.

This trek along the lake had breathtaking views. Our group age range from 13-84 years old. It was a fairly easy walk to the bridge, but there are a lot of bugs that made it a bit unpleasant. They can cause bad itching and pain so bring the insect repellent and dress accordingly. Otherwise, we had a great time and took lots of pictures. The water is beautiful and the mountains are majestic.

The prettiest lake I have ever came across! The views here are simply breathtaking. I mean, what more is there to possibly say other than “wow.”

One of the most beautiful lakes we have visited and we have traveled to quite a few now! It has a beautiful walk around it, the paths are there but be sure to wear suitable footwear as it's an all terrain path.

Stunning lake and the road. We will come back during the summer to enjoy it more.
