Moahof Appartements Alpbach

Fabulous place to stop right in the heart of the village, handily opposite the Tourist Information centre.
Very welcoming host who speaks very good English and looks to make sure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay.
We stopped in room 4, which is a one-bedded apartment at the top of the property, on the third floor, with a balcony looking out onto a lovely view. It is very spacious with everything you need for a self catering holiday; oven, hob, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, full fridge and dishwasher. There's plenty of wardrobe and drawer space with a good number of hangers. Wi-Fi is good, and strong enough to use streaming services. The only problem could be in the bathroom if you are particularly tall. Due to the slope of the roof over the toilet it is easy to bang your head.
As an aside, be aware that if you are due to arrive late on a Saturday, i.e. after 6:00 pm, the only supermarket in the village will be closed and doesn't open on Sundays, so you will probably need to bring some groceries with you, or pick them up on route.

Have known Iggy and Manuela & family for over a decade now, stayed in multiple of their premises before. Always very hospitable and a clean, inviting room with lovely views. No complaints here at all, very good value for money in the heart of the village! Would recommend!

Beautiful apartments in one of the best locations in Alpbach. The owners Ignaz and Manuela are fantastic hosts and we can't wait to go back again!

Meine erste Übernachtung vor mehr als 40 Jahren noch bei Seniorchefin Hilda und ihrem Mann !
Danach waren wir bestimmt mehr als 10 mal bei Manuela uns Ignaz zu Gast.
Man kennt die Tiroler Gastlichkeit, aber im Moarhof war es immer wieder besonders schön, nett, freundlich, familiär und einfach zum wohlfühlen. Dankeschön dafür aus Münichreith im südlichen Waldviertel !

Tolle Wohnung, nette Vermieterin, Traumhafter Ort, super Tal, tolle Lokale und interessante Flaniermeile .

Suchten spontan Unterkunft und die überaus freundliche Besitzerin gab uns ein Zimmer und Frühstück zu einem großartigen Preis.

Stayed here during February 2019. The location is excellent - in center of town and my children could walk to the small ski hill that is very close. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was spacious and clean. The place was a little dark at night but during the daytime there was ample light. I am giving two stars due to poor customer service. The lock to our apartment door broke while we were there and we were immediately blamed. Severeal times I was told, "I hope you have good insurance because this is going to be expensive." I was also told this has never happened before and the inference was given the frequency of occurrence this must be my fault. We were locked out for about 2 hrs at 9pm. My wife and children went to a friends place until it was resolved. I understand things happen and people get frustrated when stressed but when you run a business(especially one that is customer-facing) I would think - first focus on solving the problem and not place blame on the customer when a door lock does not function as it should.

Details on door lock for full disclosure - we left a key inserted in the interior cylinder when we left the apartment one day. When we tried to get back in with the second key the cylinder just spun around. Both the apartment representative and I tried other locks in the building and those locks did not allow the exterior key to function when there was a key in the interior cylinder. My understanding is that this is how the lock was designed and somehow this capability malfunctioned on our lock.
