St. Florian Basilica is truly a gem that leaves visitors in awe. The intricate details of the Baroque architecture are simply breathtaking, and every corner of the church is adorned with beauty. It was a profound blessing to have the opportunity to celebrate mass in such a magnificent setting. The basilica's impeccable maintenance is a testament to the dedication and care of those responsible for its preservation. Wonderful peaceful place. Great to to have lunch, a drink or just stroll the grounds. We had a wondrous late lunch with my wife out on the lawn in picture perfect weather watching the weddings and other events taking place.. Service was friendly, professional. the beer was the fantastic and the schnitzel was the best I had in Austria. Highly recommended

Simply stunning. This is a must see.
The atmosphere is serene. Church, Monastery and surroundings are beautiful. The staff is very friendly and passionate about the Monastery and its History. I recommend everyone to come and see the beauty and calmness of this landmark (don’t miss the Bibliotheca!! Such a powerful place loaded with years of History).
Thanks again to the Staff and the small tour.

A must-visit place for anyone who loves Anton Bruckner's music. Where he worked as an organist and where his grave is located. This place could be compared to St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, where Bach worked as an organist and cantor and where his tomb is located.

NOT CROWDED . Similar to Stift Melk (personally I preferred St. Florian more) this abbey is great. Recommend to buy the ticket with guided classic tour and the Royal apartments for 16€ (2023). Great staff and free parking nearby. My favorite rooms are the ones in the pictures.

This is the most inspiring Baroque Monastery I have visited - light and airy, and the attention to detail in the craftsmanship is truly amazing. A must to visit.

Beautiful place and the resteraunt was good too. Fun fact: it was occupied by the Nazis in WW2.

Genuine, free to enter and full of expensive looking alters, pews and ornamentation. Well worth a visit though there is limited free parking. The memorials and graves were well tended and worth viewing too.

This monastery was very impressive. I loved learning about the history of the building and exploring the building. When I entered the church part of it, I was absolutely amazed at how detailed the interior was. There were incredible paintings on the ceiling and lots of technical woodwork put into building this along with all the golden items. There are also 3 different organs in the church part, which is quite impressive. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about the history of Austria. They also do guided tours if you want to get an in-depth guide.

Stift St. Florian was a beautiful monastery and an absolute pleasure to visit. The Organ Concert in the cathedral was well done and sounded amazing echoing through the space. We fell in love with the library and wish that we could have explored more.

Small but very interesting abbey. Audio guide OK and our guide had some English and was very friendly. Impressive library and crypt and church organ. Church was being used for Confirmation service so felt like a living place. Nice experience altogether.

I'm not big into religion but I do admire old and baroque structures and architecture and in those aspects this building shines and I'd gladly spend a few euros to keep it in shape

This Augustinian monastery is a masterpiece. designed by Carlo Antonio Carlone. Baroque style is demonstrated on facades, gates, stairways and many interiors, most notably the one of the monastery church. After passing a beautiful wrought iron gate, the interior architecture of the church can be appreciated. While its walls and galleries are richly decorated with stucco, all ceilings are frescoed. The nave exhibits a sequence of frescoes with trompe-l'oeil architecture framing scenes of the martyrdom of St. Florian. The unusual approach creates a startling atmosphere (especially when a reddish light from a setting Sun floods the upper part of the nave). The high altar frames a painting with red marble.
There was no time for visiting other parts. Next time a tour of the interior of the monastery with the library, the gallery and the rooms is indisputable.

Moving , beautiful and fascinating. Worth every minute and penny and then relax in the peaceful garden over a choice between traditional Austrian dishes or the unexpected luxury of vegan food in monastery garden!

A beautiful abbey which you can visit slowly and relax at the restaurant inside one of the courtyards. If you are lucky you may listen to organ music too.
