Most certainly worth a visit, if not for the history at least for the views! The bus up is expensive but far preferable to the two hour hike to the top. The last bus leaves at 4:50 and to fully explore the top takes roughly 1.5 hours, so plan accordingly.

Gorgeous view of the Bavarian Alps.Go early to beat the crowds. If you are in Great shape, walk from visitors center to the elevator Plaza instead of riding the bus. If you have walking and balancing issues, going to the top may not be for you.

An organised trip made this a very easy outing. Early trip was not busy.
Coach to the special bus to take you to the top. Walk through the tunnel to the original elevator into The Eagles Nest. Amazing views and history of the place. Coffee, beer and souvenirs available

Such a neat experience! It is a very busy tourist location, plan ahead for this. They do scheduled tickets, which includes the bus ride round trip and entry. Wear good shoes if you want to enjoy the outside views. Once you leave the patio your on rocky ground, could be slippery. The view is worth it!

Amazing, beautiful, breathtaking scenery. All for those who pretended to not know or not care about the atrocities being committed by the man who had it built without regard for workers lives or the lives of others. Very conflicting day.

Nice place to visit but the last enter to the museum is 4pm. Bus fare with the visit of the Eagle's nest whole package is Euro 31.60 per person.

A nature based place as well as Historical. The views on the top are gorgeous.
If you don't plan to hike up do buy tickets in advance from the website. This place is very popular. RV buses take you up.
I would highly recommend to hike up to the place. It's not a very difficult hike and has a well marked trail. Beginning half is gravel and rest of it paved. Took me 2 hours to go up and an hour and 10 minutes down.
Park the car in the parking lot and the trail can be found on the right side of where the RV bus starts going up. Do opposite direction if you came from Berchtesgaden. Take water and get a cap. Would recommend starting early.
There is a restaurant on top but it was very busy. There are restrooms

Thw Eagle's Nest didn't disappoint. We took the hike road up by walk and were gifted with the breathtaking view and staggering feeling of the history.
The whole Eagle's Nest is nowadays a restaurant where you can get a Schnitzel for 20 euros.
Pro tip, you need to buy yourself a ticket for the bus one hour in forward and the last elevator is at quarter past four in the afternoon.

Beautiful place, totally worth visiting.
Apart from it's historical significance, this place provides unbelievable panoramic views. The best part is that you can either hike till this point or you can easily take a bus followed by a lift to this house.
The views you see while in the bus are terrific.

The Eagle's Nest and surrounding area are a MUST see! The countryside is incredible and views of a clear day are spectacular! I see a lot of reviews from folks disappointed about the lack of a museum on the site, but you must understand that after the war when the US Army handed the site back to the Germans it was on the condition that no memorials or museums were allowed to prevent fanatics from coming to worship. So, to respect that requirement, the building was made into a restaurant, and all of the furniture was removed. Don't fret about not seeing the "sleeping quarters" because there are none. The site was constructed as a conference center, not as a place to live. The only part not open to the public is the kitchen, which is in active use, and the office, which is used by the restaurant manager. Bring a light jacket and hiking boots so you can climb up the mountain for even better views. If it is cloudy, the view will be disappointed because you won't be able to see the valley below, but the site is nonetheless a great visit and well worth the price.

Don't like heights , but I was okay going up to Eagles Nest , Germany . The view was extraordinary! Very historical place with never before seen photos of Hitler and his entourage there . Good food in the restaurant. Good service . If you're ever in the neighborhood of Bertchesgaden , Germany , don't miss it.

Extraordinary place! Very busy but a must see!

When you buy the tickets your time going up in the bus is fixed but the brass elevator and bus down are flexible (even before or after the stated 2 hours). There are other free things to see and do at the bottom (Berghof, archives and tunnels) but some are closed in off-season).

Although is was a rainy day, the ride up to Eagles Nest was spectacular, and the little view from up there through the clouds was breath taking. I do recommend to get the private tour (for us was to late).
From the top, you can go on a lot of hiking trails.

Impressive place to visit for a bit of history and some great views. Although we had lots of clouds it was still ennjoyable. Not much to see from the house which has become a restaurant. Only possible to drive up there with the special bus line which is the only actual cost.
