Landgasthof Schwaiger

A very nice country family hotel with a restaurant at the end (or beginning if you prefer) of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road which is completely different from all the hotels in the area which are mostly tourist traps. Quite an incredible experience for the price. That took our breath away. The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but the opposite is true. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful and dramatic natural landscapes of the Alps. The owners and staff are extremely nice and pleasant people. The hotel is pet friendly. The rooms are fully adequate and offer everything you need. If there was a fridge available in the room, it would be great. The rooms do not have a balcony with a direct entrance, but the entire hotel is surrounded by balconies that can be accessed from the corridors. What got us was fantastic regional home cooking. The homemade goulash with Spätzle that my wife had was fabulus. I was delighted with the schnitzel with awsome potatoes and a perfect cranberry sauce. We rounded everything off with our "dessert" - homemade schnapps. :-) The fact that they cook well here is also proven by the fact that even locals from the surrounding area come here to eat. The breakfast was also absolutely perfect. A rich buffet and, in addition, they will prepare eggs for you the way you like them. Staying at this hotel was great. There was a homely and family atmosphere and well-being. We recommend it to everyone.

In two weeks of staying in Austria, this was my favourite place to sleep! Nice big, comfortable, super clean rooms, kind hosts and excellent breakfast. Highly recommend!

I would have liked if the mattress and pillows were a little harder, but that's a personal preference. Staff was very helpful and nice, breakfast was good, Weiner schnitzel was big and tasty.

Stayed overnight in car park in motorhome. You stay for free if you have meal in restaurant. The food beautiful. Very friendly staff.

Very nice place, meniu includes vegetarian options, which was very pleasant regarding food in this area. The room was also very cozy.

Perfect place to stop after driving the Großglockner road, friendly staff, great food and very cozy and comfortable rooms, stayed here for 2 nights and used the day to explore the area, loads to see within short driving distance, price for both rooms and foods was extremely good for what was offered, even thou it is right on the road to Großglockner the traffic was not disturbing

Wir waren schon mehrfach hier und sind immer noch begeistert. Hier fühlt man sich sofort wohl. Die Küche ist sehr gut. Hier kocht der Chef persönlich und das hervorragend gut. Die Zimmer sind schön und sehr sauber. Die Familie Schwaiger ist sehr freundlich und nett. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

War mit meinen zwei Freunden mit den Rädern hier, und hatten einen tollen Abend. Sehr schön eingerichteter Land-Gasthof, sehr saubere Zimmer, sehr gutes Essen, sehr höfliche Bedienung, Familieäre Atmosphäre, alles in allem sehr gut. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen, habe auf Wunsch noch eine zusätzliche Liege kostenlos bekommen.

Wir waren 3 mal zum Essen 🥘. Lecker einheimische Küche. Über Schweinsbraten, zu Käsespatzen alles dabei. Personal nett und zuvorkommend und noch Einheimisch. 👍👍👍

Einfach unkompliziert, super Leute, freundlich, gerne zu einem kleinen Schwätzchen bereit, Frühstück ist top und die Kinder sind schon groß geworden im Vergleich zu meinen letzten Besuch.

Sehr empfehlenswerte Unterkunft: Zimmer sauber und modern eingerichtet, hilfsbereite und aufmerksame Eigentümer, reichhaltiges Frühstück - und alles zum fairen Preis. Ruhige, idyllische Lage unweit eines Bachs. Für mein Motorrad gab es einen überdachten Stellplatz.

Zimmer kann ich nicht bewerten weil wir nur für Kaffee und Kuchen dort waren. Wirtsleute sehr freundlich und Preise gut.
