Kahlenberg

Great place to see all vienna from top of the mountain hill. When we went, it was very hazy and dark, but we could still take some pictures from there. We could see the entire city and beyond. Highly recommend.

The best view of Vienna. Also a great place to hike from the Danube, up to the monastery, which is also a couple of kilometres.

Beautiful place. Road to it is amazing going through small forest. It is very curvy with 90 degrees turns (not good for motorcycles as it is old type of road). Villages before remind of old Austria. At the top there is beautiful panorama over entire city. Highly recommend

It’s a nice place to see Wien from the mountain. The sightseeing is really good. You can see all Wien and Danube River from here. There is a cafe to drink and eat something. Also there is a church that built after the Ottoman siege. It was a foggy day but still good to see.

Amazing hike to the top with lots of vineyards around, the view is breathtaking and the wine is excellent! Def recommend to go there for the sunset but take a jacket because it gets quite cold during the night!

One of the best place in Vienna to spend an evening. There are a lot of hikes near by and the evening/night view of the city from here is just amazing.

Easy to get here by public transportation.
1h30 to go up on foot and you can see vineyards very closely and there are some open wine restaurants where you can drink wine inside vineyards. The view from Kahlenberg is very cool but it is always pretty crowded.

A beautiful scenic spot for tourists where you can enjoy the fascinating scenes of whole Vienna that feels like view from airplane. The green mountains, cool and fresh air refreshes your mind and soul. If you have a short stay in Vienna then must visit this place so as to have a look at Vienna from a single point.

Kahlenberg hill is a unique experience. You can take the buss from Vienna and go straight to the top or you can climb it from the bottom. The surroundings are very nice everything is exceptionally clean. The view is very good. You can see all of vienna from a top. You can also climb some old watchtower for even a better view. You can also just walk. Everything is so natural and clean. The air is very fresh. The busses circulate a lot in the weekend so you sont need to take your car. Also at the hill are some wine yards where you can buy some wine and also a lot of restaurants where you can eat. There are also places for children to have fun. It is also a picnic place for all the family.

Bus 38A stops at the middle and the terminus station of Kahlenberg, both places have great panoramic views of Vienna city.

Kahlenberg was the highlight of my trip to Vienna. You can get there by bus or my favorite mode of transport - hiking. Hiking from Josefdorf takes 3 hours. But the hike is worth it as you will pass by idyllic town, community parks, vineyards and the famous Vienna woods along the way as you make it to the peak. At the peak, prepare to enjoy stunning views of Vienna and it's surrounding landscape and reward yourself with a pint of cold beer, hot coffee and apple strudels.
