Well designed and laid out museum showing typical Tirolean houses from the different periods of history.
It isn't on the flat and there is quite a bit of walking needed to get around the whole site.
It is a very interesting place to visit and see how the buildings have changed over the years.
There are informative boards outside each of the houses explaining the style and design for its period and location. Also in some of the buildings there are videos of people explaining their daily lives, which have headphones for listening in different languages.
There is a large car park, however, it is also easily accessible by a regular bus service, or a 2.5 mile walk from Rattenberg.

This place is so amazing! We took a guided tour, which I would highly recommend. Our tour was about one hour, and there was more to see that wasn’t on the tour. There were examples of original Tyrolean farmhouses from the 1500s to the 1700s. You can walk inside most of the houses and see examples of kitchens, bedrooms, workshops, gathering areas, animal areas, and so much more! There is also beautiful scenery outside, including a mill, baking houses, springs, a vegetable garden and some lovely sheep with long tails. There’s also a pond. There’s a restaurant, which we didn’t visit but it looked charming. There’s also ample parking and clean restrooms. Highly recommend!

So cute! The food was amazing.

Staff was friendly and asked for vaccination proof, if you didnt have it they gave a self test if negative you were allowed in.

The park itself is amazing. Detailed descriptions and build in a logical way.

Does a great job of telling the story of the people who lived in the buildings.

This Tyrolean open-air museum is located between Innsbruck and Kufstein and has been founded in 1974.
The place is really big and you can walk through the old farms without even realizing that you are in a museum. Visiting the houses and the old farms is an amazing experience and is quite educational as well. The museum has been renovated with some interesting interactive video stories that explain some of the aspects of the life at the time.
Walking through the park can take few hours especially if you want to have a look inside the farms too.
It's quite recommend if the weather is nice and a visit with children will make them happy as they can enjoy the nature.
Don't forget to visit the restaurant wich is really good.
By the way, from time to time they have exhibitions: today for example there was the medieval time rehearsal with people walking around with typical costumes and working on old lost jobs. Really well done!

The museum is very nice and big with a lot of well preserved old farm houses. The scenery is also wonderful. The restaurant next to the entrance was very good also.
