TL;DR Go learn at BlueSky it’s fabulous.

I spent three weeks in Sillian with Bluesky getting my A-Schein. I had the flexibility to do the three weeks separately over the spring and fall as it fit my schedule. Due to this I had the added benefits of learning with several fantastic sets of students, getting to know the instructors over time, and meeting more of the regulars from the flying scene.

The area is stunning, as Austrian mountain ranges tend to be, and there are many different starting areas to learn to fly from. So even when the current situation isn’t ideal for flying and you have to sit on the mountain waiting a for the wind to change direction, you can’t help but smile and feel how lucky you are to enjoy the beauty of where you are.

As a flight school I can't recommend Blue Sky enough. The instructors are passionate about their work, and spend long days and evenings on the hill guiding, supporting, challenging and celebrating your growth every step of the way.

I never met the famous Ralph, but the instructors Robert, Ramona, Marcel, and Wendelin all really want to make sure you feel supported while you get started, feel confident in the skills you learn, and understand how to push your boundaries to safely grow as a pilot. At the end of the day, they are really lovely people and to spend time with and they are all super happy to celebrate you joining the community of paragliders.

The beginners course is a perfect way to start to experience paragliding and see if it is really is something that captivates you.

As I stated earlier I can’t recommend the school enough and I can't imagine a better place to begin your journey into the skies.

- A lot of practical and theoretical tipps and tricks during the week and even on the way from an to the flying sites
- An extensive full day theory lesson because of a rainy day
- A lot of XC advice
- Meteorological briefing in broad and depth
- Balanced support between inexperienced and experienced pilots

I would call this over achievement and thank Blue Sky for an awesome week in Slowenia.

It's a beautiful area to learn paragliding. There are many launches available (Sillian, Obertilliach, Lienz), so you can practically fly non-stop.

I spent a great week with Blue Sky on a cross country paragliding week in Austria. The weather wasn’t 100% perfect, but Ralph always knew where to go to make flying possible. I’ve learned a lot flying with a small, fun group. I also enjoyed the shared apartment I stayed in, which is right next to the school. It’s very convenient, reasonably priced, and fully equipped. I definitely want to come back for another trip with Blue Sky !!

The Blue Sky guide Markus had excellent meteorology skills and knowledge of the area, ensuring we’d always be at the best flying spot for the day. Good flying suggestions and tips for the different skill levels in the group, and well organised travel and lodging.

Phenomenal start into the new year with Ski & Fly. Ralph & Sina showed us the best spots in the area according to the weather each day. Flying options were always given preference but with a day of snow mid week we also learned cross country skiing skating style and took advantage of the fresh powder completing the famous Sellaronda the following day under blue skies. Some of us improved their skiing, some our launches and landings, some tried out new gear, some did their first ski starts for indeed ski *and* fly! I feel like the experience was so much more than what I would have gotten just going out there on my own and thus worth every penny. Already marked the calendar for next year :) Thank you Blue Sky!

Absolutely a top paragliding school. Great and friendly staff who will do everything to get you in the air and to let you have a great time. Highly recommended. Will come again!

Great experience

Obwohl das Wetter in dieser Woche großteils schlecht war, bin ich dennoch mit der Reise zufrieden. Die Unterkunft war wie immer hervorragend, ebenso die Betreuung durch Ralph und Manuel. Das schlechte Wetter wurde für Groundhandling und Theorie-Einheiten bzgl. Wetter, Thermik und Sicherheit genutzt. Zusätzlich wurde es ermöglicht, auf Wunsch einen Tag zu verlängern. Das Highlight war der Streckenflug am Lijak am letzten Tag. Besonders dankbar war ich für den persönlichen Shuttle zurück zum Auto. Danke Ralph und Manuel!

Traumwoche mit der Flugschule Blue Sky in Lefkada🇬🇷. Ralph und Team verstehen ihr Handwerk. Jeder Tag ein neuer Startplatz und flattern was das Zeug hält🪂. No Stress und jeden Tag genügend Zeit um zu baden oder das ein oder andere Saftl zu trinken und die Seele baumeln lassen🍺🏝. Frei nach dem Motto: fliegen mit Freunden. Danke für die geile Woche! Bei einer individuellen Lefkada Urlaubsreise konnte ich mich der Gruppe von Blue Sky ganz spontan und unkompliziert für einzelne Tage anschließen.
Von Ralph wurde ich in die Fluggebiete gründlich eingewiesen. Eine gewissenhafte Betreuung und Kontrolle am Startplatz, sowie in der Luft per Funk waren optimal. Eine ganz herzliche und freundschaftliche Stimmung.

Habe heute meinen ersten Tandem Flug am Golzentipp | Obertilliach mit der Flugschule Blue Sky erlebt. Bei Norbert habe ich mich sehr sicher gefühlt und seine Begeisterung für das Fliegen steckt sichtlich an. Dank seiner Erfahrung wurde diese Premiere zu einem fabelhaften Erlebnis für mich. Vielen Dank und gerne wieder!

Danke für die super 3 Wochen bei euch. Wir haben es geschafft in 3 Wochen den Kompaktkurs durchzuziehen und über 45 Flüge zu machen. Ihr habt immer alles versucht, dass wir fliegen konnten. Danke an Robert für die tolle Ausbildung und auch Danke an Ramona für die super Unterstützung...wir konnten von euch so viel lernen. Ihr seid ein tolles Team und man fühlt sich wohl bei euch. Wir waren mit Ralph und seinem Team auf Lefkada und hatten eine mega Woche. Fliegen steht klar im Mittelpunkt und wenn das Wetter mal nicht optimal ist, finden die Guides auch mal "kreative" Startplätze.
Das ganze war auch immer sicher und der Gruppe angepasst - bei überfordernden oder nicht fliegbaren Bedingungen ging's an den Strand, zum schnorcheln...

Nach der Landung, vorzugsweise am Strand mit Beach-Bar, war immer Zeit für einen Sprung ins Wasser, einen Cappuccino... Hektisches packen, drängeln und stressen zum Startplatz war definitiv nicht Teil der Reise.

Das tägliche Wetter-Briefing war eine super Theorie-Auffrischung und das Coaching von Ralph erstreckt sich vom Groundhandling über Starthilfe zu Thermik-Tipps bis hin zur Auffrischung von Flugmanövern. Die Reise ist kein Kurs, aber perfekt um sich punktuell zu verbessern.

Es gäbe hier noch so viel mehr zu berichten, aber das würde den Rahmen hier sprengen. Das Blue Sky Motto, "Fliegen mit Freunden", trifft zu 100% zu und wir freuen uns aufs nächste mal!

Lefkada 1/23. Trotz Wetterpech war es eine tolle Reise. Das Blue Sky Team kennt "seine" Insel und ihre Highlights. So wurde es dank abwechslungsreichem Alternativprogramm niemals langweilig. Gerne wieder. Pro Tipp: mindestens zwei Wochen buchen, damit man wettertechnisch auf der sicheren Seite ist.

Super freundliche und entspannte Flugschule in wunderschöner Landschaft. Habe meinen 3 Wochen Kurs sehr genossen. Besonders gefallenen hat mir, die Kompetenz und Ruhe der Fluglehrer, ich fühlte mich zu jedem Zeitpunkt 100% sicher und gut betreut. Ich werde wieder kommen um im wunderschönen Sillian zu fliegen!!

Empfohlen von einem Fliegerfreund bin ich trotzdem mit gemischten Gefühlen zu meinem Kurs nach Sillian gestartet. Meine Erwartungen wurden übertroffen, es war eine tolle Woche, mit coolen Flügen in atemberaubender Kulissen und einer perfekten Begleitung von Ralph, Ramona und Robert. Alles in Allem wurde mir ein Rundum-Sorglos-Paket geboten. Vielen lieben Dank. Ich komme wieder. :)
