Great camping spot especially for tents as there is possibility to put them next to the lake. The main bathroom which is after renovation is really nice. We stayed for 5 nights and it was really cool. We also liked the shop with fresh bread and the ice cream vending machine.

Lovely little camp spot right on the lake. Good beer garden (can take the dogs) and decent sized pitches. We went for standard pitch (the cheap one) and whilst it didn't have water on our pitch, it was a one minute walk away. Facilities excellent quality and hygienic. Little creek for the dogs to walk and splash in too - although the path is very busy with cyclists, walkers and other dogs.

Very nice and well-equipped campsite. Besides having 16amps available (most other sites had 6), our spot also had its own water tap and greywater drain.
You can access the lake directly from the site which was very convenient.
Also a big shoutout to Olaf, the volunteer first aid person on site. He was super nice to our daughter when she needed help.

This campsite really exceeded my expectations. The camping places are rather large (there are also smaller places) but especially the restaurant, camping shop, and hygienic facilities are really nice and modern. The staff is friendly and punctual, there's even a first-aid employee who makes his rounds at least once a day to check whether everyone is doing okay on their campsite.

The Germans really have a knack for creating well organised and clean campsites and Campingplatz Bannwaldsee is definitely not an exception.

10/10 would definitely return to this campsite.

I stayed here for one night in early September.

They were very helpful as they made a spot for me, even though their reception hours were already way past in the late evening and the camping was basically full. So it felt like they made an exception for me to help me. Really appreciated!

I was there on a Saturday night and it seemed really joyful, with live music and lots of drinking and dancing on a plaza.

The facilities were really clean and spacious as well.

We've visited this campsite twice whilst on motorcycle trips to Bavaria. Picture perfect location on the banks of the lake. Just down the road from Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles. Nice clean pitches. Great restaurant and, during the season, lots of entertainment in the beer hall. Definitely a favourite of ours and we can't wait to go back some day.

A lovely campsite in an amazing area with lots to explore locally including a swim in the lake. The food at the casual restaurant hits the spot along with a beer.
The facilities are good and kept clean.
The site was a little too big and busy for our tastes but not a criticism of the site just personal preference. Having said that, we’d come back and stay again.

Beautiful location. We stayed on Stellplatz and used site facilities. If staying more than 2 nights I'd probably stay on campsite. The shower, toilet facilities etc are pristine and modern. There is lots of cycling and sights to see. Highly recommended.

Stayed (tent camped with car, no electricity) one weekend in July (Friday-Sunday), we didn't have a reservation but they were able to find us a spot near the lake.
Pros:
- Superb amenities: Clean bathrooms and showers, washer/dryer, dishwashing areas (several locations on the campsite), a restaurant, beauty salon and market with bread service, wine, beer, water and almost anything you many need or have forgotten.
- Lake and campsite were all very clean.
-Great location for paragliding, super close to Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castle as well as other tourist attractions in and around Schwangau.
- Directly on the Bannwaldsee that is swimmable, fishable and plenty of room for kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, etc. They even have paddleboats on location for use.
-They have children's bikes for use around the park.
- Beautiful view of the Allgäu Mountains.

Cons:
The only negative that we experienced was how crowded the tent site was. Its first come first serve and no real organization. Tents were packed in the area right next to each other. We understand it is currently peak season, and we were thankful to have gotten a spot; but that's the only negative we could speak of.

Overall, highly recommended campsite.

It's such a good camping place. 100% recommended.
Please note that all camp spots have a rocky base. You need thick tent pecks, a steel hammer, and a strong arm.

Busy, though quite friendly. Fairly expensive but facilities were excellent. The toilets & showers spotless. Recycling good & bread rolls & croissants from onside shop good too. We were down the bottom from the road, nearer the lake so no road noise at night. Good site.

Nice, cozy place with well maintained toilet and bathing facilities, a good restaurant and small store, great atmosphere and lovely location
There is a bike road running right from the main entrance along the main road. Following that you can get to Fussen, Halblech or other towns in the area, around the lakes just to the north, or up into the mountains by a few asphalt roads going some way up into the alps, or by one of many gravel roads going far and deep into the alps passing many restaurants and other points of interest
There are also many paths for walking/climbing up the mountains starting from just south of Schwangau of varying difficulty marked with blue (easy), red (intermediate) and black (difficult - bring climbing equipment) dots
Excellent place to stay in the summer. 18 degrees feels very warm when the sun is shining, and the mountains often shield off the wind

Second visit to this camping platz. The bathrooms have been updated, and are super modern. I was both excited and saddened to see old quaint bathrooms gone.
The staff and other visitors were all lovely. Easy access to the castles and Alps the following day. The lake itself is very magical and great for an early morning walk around.

Awesome place with great view. Has slots for RVs and tents. You can camp right on the lakefront. Its about 10 min. drive from the Neuschwanstein castle, and 5 min. drive to Rewe a grocery store. Has a cool playground for kids with zip lines etc., it also has a reasonable priced bike and peddle car rental. Bathrooms are clean, it also had showers.

The camp site was clean, quiet and very well organised. It is huge, but is surrounded for a beautiful landscape and very nice lake. We were a family with five members and everything was just perfect. We enjoyed very much our stay.

A beautiful location for camping, caravans, motorhomes and camper vans. Competitively priced rates with all possible facilities for all travellers needs. A well serviced restaurant with a good range of meals and drinks. A very convenient location for visiting the famous local castles in Hohenschwangau.

Very clean and tidy camping, well driven and in close proximity to the Neuschwanstein and other castles and to the skylift. Recommended to have a bike if coming with a campervan.
