The attention to detail in every aspect of the meal, from presentation to taste, was truly exceptional.

Every dish we tried was a masterpiece in itself, with fresh ingredients bursting with flavor. The perfect balance of flavors and textures made every bite a delight to savor.

The portion sizes were just right, leaving us pleasantly satisfied but not overly full. The team even accommodated our request for a table with enough space for a pram, showing their attentiveness towards their guests' needs.

We got a vegetarian menu and each item we tasted was bursting with flavour! The staff were friendly and professional and the atmosphere and decor is absolutely beautiful. I loved the details in the cutlery, crockery and even the coaster. Absolutely class and elegance. Great presentation of dishes and pure indulgence. Very decadent and ideal for a special occasion!

Celebrated my 32nd birthday and first dining experience at Kadota. My partner and I have been living in the countryside for quite a while now and our experience at Kadota was the perfect, premium, Japanese fine dining food-and-service experience.

This review is long overdue.

I’ve dined at Kadota 3 times, and each time the food and service would surpass my previous experience. Chef Aaron and his lovely partner Risa, have created a culinary gem worthy of many Michelin stars. Their Kaiseki is on par with the Kaiseki I’ve eaten in Japan. All the dishes were immaculately cooked and presented, the desserts looked and tasted deliciously divine. Table service is consistently top notch. Beautiful restaurant ideal for a date night. 11/10

Fabulous experience, all dishes were beautifully presented, fresh and full of flavour. Sashimi, abalone and wagyu something special. Service was first class from the moment we walk through the door.

Aaron and Risa have created an experience like no other... the best Japanese dining you will ever have... the flavours are so good, the presentation... amazing, kind and friendly staff, fantastic drinks menu, you'll want more and more... i keep coming back each season for the last 2 years... no doubt my favourite restaurant. My tip... always book the luxury set and celebratory dessert (will be the best dessert you've ever had!).

My partner booked us in at Kadota for our 10 year anniversary, it was lovely. The staff were very friendly and attentive and food was amazing. I usually avoid fine dining as a vegetarian - because I would say I’m a picky eater, but thoroughly enjoyed everything served! Very impressed.

The team even brought out a sweet handwritten “Happy Anniversary” note and candle as a special, personal touch.

We came here for my husband’s birthday dinner and we absolutely loved everything about Kadota. The services was fantastic and the food was incredible! We were quite full at the end and everything was perfect. The chef even came out to bring our dessert which is such a nice touch! You can tell they put a lot of heart and soul into their restaurant.

An amazing experience. I’m not a big fan of seafood so wasn’t sure how this would go but staff made an effort to tailor to vegetarian preferences. The roasted eggplant was divine!

We went to Kadota to celebrate my gorgeous wife’s 50th Birthday. Not only was the food absolutely amazing, the service was impeccable but the whole experience was a truly enjoyable gastronomic experience over several hours. This is not a meal, it is a unique journey for your taste buds and an event to be shared. Moreover, my wife is a coeliac and there were no issues at all with the chef adapting the menu. Thank you, we’ll certainly be back.

Everything was spectacular from start to finish. It’s rare to find a restaurant where every course amazes you. We had the luxury menu and were excited to see what followed after every course. Staff were lovely and attentive. My favourite was the calamari and the wagyu. We also got the soy sauce and furakake to take home. Highly recommend for a special occasion!

A dining experience at Kadota was a memory to hold dear to. We were instantly greeted by friendly, kind staff who constantly attended to our every need; topping up water, moving effectively and gracefully.
Every course expanded my horizons as it continued. We picked the Classic Set, and I was not let down. My favourite dish was the rice course, with all the rice garnishes creating a flavour explosion in my mouth. (Definitely recommend trying it out!!)
The atmosphere of the restaurant itself was very aesthetically pleasing and enjoyable to be in. The music created a relaxing atmosphere and the artwork made by local artists drew my eyes in.

This is my favorite Japanese French fusion restaurant! A hidden gem in Daylesford. We went there for an early dinner celebration for my sisters birthday. Firstly, they have amazing service, professional, friendly and accommodating, I booked online and the team knew I have a 11 month of kid - they gave us the best table with enough space for a pram and good privacy from the main dining area. Second, the food, the taste and presentation is amazing, the attention to detail is second to none. The speed of the service was also at the perfect pace, particularly with a kid. The portion for the entire course was also just right, full but not too full. Overall a fantastic dining experience that we will remember for a long while!

An amazing experience. Food is top notch and impressive. It's a course dinner so it's a journey. The food is simple yet sophisticated. Full of flavours and the chefs really showcased it well. Taste was amazing and truly something that should be experienced when in Daylesford. It's not cheap, but then again, when is fine dining cheap in Australia. Lol. My favorite dish of the day will definitely be the steak! Amazing Wagyu!

I honestly don't even know where to start this review... From start to finish the experience was amazing, attention to detail was an absolute must. Each dish meticulously crafted and understated on the menu, however delivered with many vibrant and exciting flavours, topped with the fact that each glass of sake paired were served in ways which amplified their flavours and tones. Anything I write here wouldn't be enough to do this restaurant justice, you must check it out for yourself.

Such a Beautiful taste of Japan in Daylesford! My partner and I had a wonderful evening dining at Kadaota in our recent stay at Daylesford. The Classic menu offered an amazing range of tastes and textures that truly need to be experienced. Each dish was beautifully presented, and each was given a detailed explanation on their ingredients and origins.
However, any dining experience is incomplete without a good host. I must commend Risa on her excellent professionalism and bubbly enthusiasm, which was a true highlight to our night.

I would highly recommend anyone visiting Daylesford that Kadota is a must go to destination.

Japanese fine dining, food is excellent and so is the service. Bit on the pricey side but it's acceptable for what it is. Recommended particularly for couples, special date nights.
