The Convent Hunter Valley Luxury Boutique Hotel

Historic hotel in a beautiful setting, in the middle of Pokolbin, set away from the main road right next to Pepper Tree Winery. Beautiful manicured grouds, excellent service and staff. Rooms are lovely, not modern but charming and vintage. Breakfast was excellent, onsite free parking was very convenient. Would definitely stay again.

This place is delightful. The service amazing and location so peaceful.
We celebrated my Mum's 70th birthday by staying overnight, then having a high tea the next day.
We have a number of family members with different dietary requirements and the food provided was outstanding! We were so happy with the day and my Mum loved every moment. A truly special place. 💖

There’s a bit of history with this venue but no ghosts just some creaky floorboards.
We visited this business for weekend accomodation, check in was easy, the additional request of a cheese plate sent to the room prior entry was of ease also.

We found the rooms to be a standard size yet the bathrooms still had the vintage look and were quite spacious. A renovation in these to utilise more space with a more modern bath + vanity.
The “pillow menu” was something I hadn’t witnessed before but found my comfort pillow from this option, thank you.

We did not take up the opportunity to take a swim or play some tennis though both areas we very appealing to use.

Pepper Tree Winery & Circa 1976 restaurants both within walking distance of the hotel, both a must visit if you’re booking accommodation with The Convent.

The team delivered well overall from check in to check out but $450 a night is not justifiable if comparing to other hotel businesses offering more value for dollar.

Gorgeous place to get ready for your Hunter Valley Wedding! Whether your ceremony is down the road at Circa or somewhere else in the Pokolbin region this place is my top 3! The grounds are always well kept and i think the best time of year for the florals is autumn and spring for photos.

Class style and old charm. Honestly the most beautiful historic buildings in the valley. Oozes beauty and what a lovely helpful friendly lady Vicki is.. Too good for words as your eyes must see 😁

We just spent a fantastic weekend at the Convent . The location is fabulous and the building is beautiful. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Great food .will definitely be heading back to the Convent again

Just had an absolutely wonderful three night stay with my wife. Really spacious and comfortable room 07. Staff were tremendous. Jessica is real character and thoroughly professional. William and Jenny were so nice. They all made sure our stay was fabulous. Our meal from Circa 1876 restaurant was just magnificent. Best dessert ever. Breakfasts really good. Very idyllic location with stunning arcade entry. History of The Convent is fascinating. BIG THANK YOU xx

Incredible boutique building with a lot of history. Driving down the long road to be greeted with a water foundation followed by the estate was absolutely gorgeous. We booked for the deluxe room which was nice and roomy for 2. The room offered balconies towards the front and the side. Staff were very polite. The entire experience felt very homey which was exactly what we were looking for on this trip away. Perfect stay coupled with dinner down the road at Circa 1876.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. We arrived at night to a tree lit drive way and an exquisite old convent inviting us in out of the cold. Rudy at the front desk was so warm and welcoming and exactly what we needed after our 2 hour road trip on Friday night. The decor is absolutely stunning and our room was both luxurious and comfortable. Dinner at Circa 1876 was some of the best food we have ever eaten. 5 star service, food and accommodation surrounded by spectacular wineries and scenery. We will definitely be back and thoroughly recommend it to fellow travellers.

Stayed for one night. The lavish accomodations made for an unforgettable stay. Fantastic scenery. Pristine and comfy beds. Very thankful for all the services provided, including the automated coffee brewer! I am very satisfied, well worth the price indeed. A must for anyone stopping by Hunter Valley.

Just spent an amazing afternoon enjoying a fabulous high tea at Eighty Eight at The Convent. Great service, yummy food and the overall ambience made this a memorable experience. We’re definitely returning and highly recommend!

Five stars does not give it justice. The entire estate looked like it had been Photoshop'd. Simply stunning surrounding. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the restaurant, but all the more reason to go back.

Loved staying here. The grounds and building are so well kept, old fashioned and beautiful. Staff were outstanding, warm welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast was terrific. Great location close to all the main winery area and resteraunts.

Pricey, but very nice. Quaintly located a bit off the beaten path but central to all of the local wine attractions.

Apparently this is a popular filming venue for a lot of dating TV shows, so it has an aura of romance about it.

The rooms are well appointed (for the style), the service is excellent, and the views are magnificent. Our experience was made much better by our cellar door experience at Pepper Tree, but the opulent and well put together stylings inside the convent stole our hearts immediately. We will endeavour to come back again!

We had dinner here on our stay in hunter valley and OMG this place literally rocked our world. The food and service is out of this world, cannot recommend this place highly enough. The staff also really know their stuff when it comes to the wines and are always happy to help you decide on what to eat and drink. Would definitely have the bone marrow again... WOW☺

We had a great stay at the Convent. The building is impressive, the lobby is lavish and the rooms were large and cozy.

Staff were friendly and professional, and the restaurant was excellent. Wifi worked well. It’s also very close to the main village.

A standout in the Hunter Valley.

Really beautiful place with old charm and friendly service. We spent a weekend away from Sydney where we celebrated our engagement. Lovely garden where we had our brekky and swimming pool to use on a hot day! Great!

Really loved this heritage conversion hotel as well as the beautifully manicured yard. It also has a marquee area for functions and events. As a wedding location this provides a picturesque setting that comes with its own heritage building and back story. The chandellier laced marque creates a touch of style and elegance whilst its own alter at the back is designed to receive the bride arrving on a fairytale white horse cart. The restaurant is also another venue option that re-creates the illusion of a working log cabin. It was only a visit on this trip but I found the place quite magical. Look forward to coming back and sampling the food.

Wonderful surroundings, comfortable rooms and great service and quality of dining - breakfast outdoors on the porch is top notch!
