8 Mile Flat

Great free camping ground, literally just next to the creek. You would need a 4WD to access, thus, not as crowd as other camping ground so super spacious and quiet. You would have a whole big slot for yourself with the firepit. Having basic drop toilet.

Really nice creek nearby, easy to access. Not deep at all, great for swimming or just chilling there. Keep in mind the rocks are super slippery so be careful to not hurt yourself like I did.

There is also a trail to hike to Richies Hut 6km from here with hike-in camping ground only.

This camping site is great for The Bluff summit trekkers. You can camp here then drive to the Bluff Hut and start the summit from there. Only around 4km 1 way easy flat walk. Took us around 3.5 hours roundway including resting and taking photos time. Great view, really worth it!

I almost don't want to review this as I don't want everyone else to go here 😉 A great little camp ground. Popular with 4x4 campers and hikers. Entry by a shallow river crossing. Clean long drop. Nice, quiet place to camp. Good base for a walk to Ritchie's Hut or a drive up to the Bluff hut and lookout, fishing and water play

Great little campground. Grassy and flat, right beside the river. Drop toilets and 5 firepits. Steep descent down dirt track and a small creek crossing to reach the ground itself...high clearance 2wd okay in dry but would require 4wd in wet conditions.

Neat spot for free camping along the howqua river with at the head of the 8 mile spur track. Some 2wd vehicles may find it difficult to get in and out especially after rain due to a steep dirt entry and a shallow creek crossing.
