One Tree Hill

How beautiful, oh my goodness! Incredible views, drinks and food. Make sure you take a minute to spend a sunset up on one tree hill. A shout out to our guy Jack, legendary service with a smile and a good moustache.

After a thrilling buggy ride to the top of the mountain, we stopped at this gem of a restaurant to grab drinks and were absolutely taken by the stunning views of the Whitsundays. Not only was the scenery epic, but the staff were also exceptionally friendly and kind. They went above and beyond by helping us cancel a reservation and connected us with the right people to make our day seamless. A must-visit spot when you’re on Hamilton Island!

Amazing view, great place to watch the sunset. Pretty solid cocktail’s.

Besides passage peak, this is the best lookout on Hamilton Island, and much more easily accessible. The views from One Tree Hill are phenomenal at all times of day, especially at sunset. Plan to arrive early if you want a good spot to watch the sunset, as it’s a popular thing to do. There is a bar at the top offering small snacks. There is also live music some evenings.

Absolutely worth coming here. The views are awesome. They serve drinks and mock tails and provide lots of seating for you to enjoy the views. Toilets also available. Best of all is the sunset. It’s gorgeous. Be early because many people come and picnic in the area to enjoy the views.

Fantastic sunset and location. My advice would be to take a couple glasses and your favourite drop. Be early if you want a table at the bar, but to be honest the best view of the sunset wasn’t from the bar anyway.. stay for the afterglow!

What a beautiful spot to have a drink over looking the stunning views and islands in the Whitsunday island. It’s very scenic and great cocktails. I highly recommend to chill at this cute little bar when visiting the island. It’s also a photography spot so you take lots of great photos of the island and the ocean. A must visit. Highly recommend it. When we were there it was very cloudy and rainy therefore, couldn’t see the sunset. However, if the sky is clear, I’m sure you can picture beautiful sunset from this top location.

Top spot on the island to drive up and enjoy the sunset overlooking the surrounding islands. Very popular spot at sunset, worth getting there a little early & taking a picnic rug and some drinks to sit on the hill. Convenient bar if you don't want to bring your own, does some good cocktails!

Best lookout in Hamilton Island. You should see the sunset from here if you staying at Hamilton Island. Sunrise views are also pretty.

The view from the lookout is great on a clear day. We went up on the first day and it was cloudy and rainy so can't see much, came back on the second day and it totally worth it. Takes around 5mins on the buggy to travel from the main resort centre.

Most beautiful spot, over looking the island. What a fantastic way to enjoy a cocktail and watch the sunset with a antipasto platter. Pure bliss. Bar opens at 4pm - 7pm. Get there early for drinks, table, good spot and some Where to park your buggy.Gets super busy. Or bring a picnic blanket and your own snacks and drinks.

What an amazing spot this bar is at! Busy every evening for the gorgeous hamilton island sunset.
Drinks are lovely at the one tree hill bar and the staff there just as lovely. Came a couple of times for sunset drinks before dinner.
An absolute must do, for anyone!

Such a beautiful viewing point. We didn’t go to the bar because it was full and had a line. Otherwise, would have definitely gone.

Great place to view sights!! Especially sunsets!

Absolutely breathtaking panoramic views. We had the sunset in the West and the almost full moon rising in the east. You won't be alone at sunset and there is almost a festive atmosphere as more people arrive. You can buy a drink at the kiosk bar to sip while you watch the suns decent below the far hill. You can get there by golf buggy or the awesome free shuttle bus that does continuous loops of the island. Definitely worth the trip any time of day but sunrise and set for sure.

Yummy cocktails with the best view! The cocktails are quick too, because they’re on tap… perfect. Would’ve been nice for sunset, but we had to leave to get on the ferry back. Next time!

Awesome lockout place where we sat down and had some drinks. It's on top of a hill only 5 minutes drive from the marina but you do need a buggy. We saw some exhausted people trying to walk up and down the hills in the tropical heat. They were super exhausted. Get a buggy and make a reservation about 2 weeks before your trip to make sure you get one. Anyway, location, service and drinks were very nice at this place.

Whether you enjoy the morning sunrise, the orange sunset or buzzing night life; One Tree Hill is a "must see" when you're at Hamilton Island.

Tips for the day: (because we have seen and also learnt the hard way).

- Crows and Magpies are not shy, always be present when you have food even if you turn away for a quick sec.
- Don't get your child to look after the food, not unless you want to see them get ambushed for a photo ;)
- Never leave anything small, rubbish or packaged food in your buggy, the crows will steal that too.
- Pack a nice picnic/mat and come an hour+ earlier for the sunset. Parks and photo spots get filled up quickly.
- Must try One Tree Hill"s refreshing drinks after the sunset.
