So many beautiful memories 13 yrs ago on a road trip,i had to fly myself there to see it again. A great place for a morning jog and fresh air

The blue lake was not blue when we arrived. But we loved it. Lots of look out spots from where you can look at the lake. There is also a lot of information about the lake itself and its history.

Looked upon the gazing into the tranquil waters proved to be a soothing and grounding experience. No question about it, this is a vista that truly warrants a visit.

Couldn't get enough of this lake. So beautiful, can not miss visiting this. Visit this on a nice sunny day to truly see the beauty. The blue colour only appears during the summer months. The rest of the months, it is grey. This lake has got many viewing points so you can see the lake in all the angles. Such a Picturesque Lake.

Wow The lake is beautiful - dark blue colour water surrounded by forest. There is some magic in this scenery.
If you go to any of the lookouts - there is a detailed explanation why the lake is blue and when it appeared every thing is beautifull!

💦 💦 💦 The Beautiful "Blue Lake" formed in a volcanic crater in Mount Gambia, and was named after the maar volcano nearby. The Geological history is excellent here, but so is the natural environment. So put it on your “bucket list”! 💦 💦 💦

Summer months are perfect to see the bright blue water.

There are many viewing points from which to admire this stunning blue lake. If time does not allow for a walk around the lake, drive the road that encircles the lake and stop at the lookouts. It is worth seeing the lake from different sides, especially if the sun is shining, as this affects the blueness! The best view is from Rook Wall Lookout. There is not a lot of parking. From here, there is an underpass to a lower lookout. Or there are stairs up to a wooden sheltered lookout. If you are feeling extra fit, there are steps up to a higher lookout, although the view doesn't really justify the climb. There are informative displays at some lookouts. Interesting to read about the formation and current use of the lake. This is a must-see when in Mt Gambier.

Blue Lake is definitely a must see on a bucket list if you're travelling in SA.

It's breathtaking in it's sheer size plus the fact that's it's a dormant volcano adds to the beauty.

If you're an artist then this is one view well worth painting.

The blue lake was really really beautiful and very very blue. Absolutely loved it. Lots of look out spots from where you can look at the lake. There is also a lot of information about the lake itself and its history. When we went to the Mount Gambier visitor centre they were also selling little bottles with water take from the blue lake which I thought was interesting

A must visit if you are in Mount Gambier. The water is so clear and blue 😍

Up for a 3.5km walk? Go round the blue lake and you get your exercise for the day. Many stopover for a breathtaking view of the lake… else you could also drive to one of the car parks and get the lookout view… weather was on our side when we were there. Blue skies and blue lake!

Short walk to the lake, bit of an effort to the top through steps. Lake looks majestic from any angel. Safe, easily accessible.

Well worth a visit, Lake is only blue in the summer months.

Blue lake is a piece of art work in Mount Gambier area. The place has a wonderful view.
It is great to walk around with family.
