A truly divine stay!!

Shylie’s is a magical place, and was the perfect 5 night stay this January. With easy access to beautiful, private beaches with turquoise water (one a cove directly in front of the house) - it feels like something out of the Mediterranean… hard to believe it’s just an easy journey’s way from Adelaide!

Apart from the stunning location, Shylie’s itself had everything we needed to relax… outdoor tub, spacious deck & seating, and the most comfortable bedroom with a remarkable view of the continent.

I cannot fault this wonderful place. Kate & Andy are such welcoming hosts… made us feel right at home.

We’ll be back to Antechamber Bay Retreats!

Our stay at Shylie’s was the perfect treat after travelling KI in our camper. Perched above the beach the panoramic view is amazing from every room, and especially enjoyable from the outdoor bath on the deck. The house is simple with the retention of old charm and new comforts and the property offers so much to do that you just don’t need to leave. Truly pet friendly. We enjoyed the private beach, walking, riding and fishing during our stay. Highly recommend a visit.

We had the most wonderful family holiday at Antechamber Bay Retreats. Loved the charming old Cottage with its blissful views, the fireplace and the comfortable bedrooms. We were received with the warmest welcome and our stay could not have been better. Spent a whole morning watching a whale breaching in the bay. I am writing this review weeks after we had stayed as the memories are still so present.

Spent a weekend here, left feeling relaxed and refreshed! Stunning views and access to a few beaches directly from the property.

The house was very comfortable to stay in with clean/new bathroom facilities, fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The hosts made it such an easy and enjoyable experience.

Thanks Kate and Andy :)

I recently stayed at Shylie's cottage after being a frequent visitor to Antechamber Bay Retreats, in the past staying at Kona and Nats. I was delighted to see a new accommodation offering on this beautiful farm. Perfect for a couple or small family. Shylie's view from the master bedroom is breathtaking from early morning to late at night, the quality of my sleep so deep, lulled by a gentle breeze and rhythmic ocean sounds. This retreat has everything you need for a perfect stay, Kate is a warm and generous host with special touches left for guests (even down to heavenly hand made soap). To cap it all off, the retreat comes complete with a divine outside private bath, I spent many a restorative afternoon soaking here watching little blue wrens diving in and out of the native bush retreat after the day spent on the very special private beach. I cannot wait to return.

My parents and I stayed at Shylie's retreat and it was truly the most wonderful experience. Kate and Andy are lovely people and incredibly friendly, the view is spectacular and the most gorgeous, private beaches are mere minutes away. The house itself is lovely, cosy and comfortable with all the necessary ammenities and again with the most insane views. We stayed for 6 days and I wouldn't change any part of our stay for the world. I could not recommend Antechamber Bay Retreats enough and Kate was so helpful and responsive during the booking process.

We really enjoyed our 4 nights stay at Nat’s retreat during September, the house is very welcoming and well equipped. The main bedroom is lovely and very comfortable, with a big picture window that allows you to take in the amazing view while still in bed. We had a mixed bag of weather during our stay, when the sun was out the veranda was the ideal place to relax and enjoy the view, the sheep were very entertaining to watch. On the cold and raining days the living area or bedroom provided comfortable areas to relax and still enjoy our time at Nat’s. The welcoming bottle of wine from a local winery was a lovely unexpected touch. Would highly recommend Nat’s Retreat to anyone who likes a nature base holiday with the comfort of a lovely historic house.

Stayed here at both Nat’s and The Kona - absolutely beautiful setting and highly recommend.

Very well equipped kitchens at both places, fantastic quality appliances and even a personalized note from the owners welcoming us! All beddings was beautiful quality and comfortable beds. We loved our time here and would love to come back!

Stunning setting. Great views. A beautiful house with everything we needed for our stay. Really comfy bed and well appointed bathrooms and kitchen. Breakfast on the porch, while watching the dolphins swimming, an amazing way to start the day. Reading by the log fire in the evening was a perfect way to wind down at the end of the day. We enjoyed the walking trail down to the private beach and the trail down to Antechamber Bay. We brought our own food but there were wineries nearby for platters and lunches to provide variety. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. I wish we had stayed longer.

We spent 3 days in this beautiful and remote setting. A great place to explore the sights and enjoy the food and drink experiences of the Dudley Penninsula and Peneshaw before retreating to the peace and quiet of Shylie's. Whiled away time imagining living in this rugged but stunning place then exploring the cliffs and private beach. The outdoor bath in the rain was a special treat as was the wood fire heater.

A small slice of heaven! Such a beautiful place to stay, surrounded by nature at its best! Kangaroos and sheep on the doorstep and stunning ocean views! And a private beach which was beautiful, even in the wind and rain!
Accommodation was lovely, very clean and everything you need! Did struggle a little with the dishwasher, some basic instructions may have helped, technology is not my strong point!!
Communication with Kate was easy and she responded very quickly, especially when the lockdown changed some of our plans, including bringing our dog. She was very helpful and didn't hesitate to accommodate our needs.
The only issue we had was, due to all the rain, the 2.5km driveway was a little hard in a sedan car, a 4WD may have been more appropriate! Kate did warn us it may be a bit slippery, glad my hubby did all the driving, as he drives for a living!
We would love to visit again in the summer and would stay for longer as 2 nights was not enough time to enjoy this wonderful place!

We stayed 6 nights at Nat’s and I could have happily stayed longer. The house is gorgeous and so cosy with the fire at night. The view is amazing and sitting on the veranda we watched whales, sheep, kangaroos and Chooks.
The bedrooms are beautifully appointed with the main having a perfect view and aspect to watch the sunrise. We were lucky with the weather but any weather would be perfect at Nat’s.
There was nothing I worked have changed. We will be back!

Our hosts were super accommodating at such late notice, and very friendly and welcoming. We stayed at Nat's, and it was very clean and comfortable - the master & ensuite were more than we expected! The property had amazing views, and we had local wildlife visitors every evening. Staying here would be great for couples (like us) or bigger groups, with a great outdoor area for summer evenings. The nearby beaches (some private to the property, all walkable) were stunning too.

A stay my family and I will remember for ever. The property, house and views are so magnificent we could have done no site seeing and been 100% content with just staying at the property and exploring the beach. With an incredible history and views that dreams are made of Nats retreat is a clear winner. We will definitely be back! Simply stunning!

Nat's was more than we could have ever hoped for. Where to start! The view was amazing during the day and serene at night. The house itself makes you feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the bathrooms spot on.
Nature all around and the most friendly sheep in the world!

Our stay at antechamber bay was amazing, the property extends along a beautiful stretch of coast land that is only accessible from their property. Upon arrival at Nats we were blown away by the views from the verandah and we spent most evenings eating dinner looking out over the amazing backdrop. There was so much to explore on the property as well as close by on the island it kept us very busy! Plenty of fish to catch from off the rocks too!

It was great to stay in such a historically significant home which you Andy & Kate have provided details about in the house. The brand new ensuite was an added bonus too!

Would highly recommend for anyone planning on visiting the island to stay here.

Our family come and stay here every year, we love it so much! We have stayed in both Nat's and the Kona and love them both, beachside bliss! And nothing beats waking up to that view!!! So close to pristine beaches, and King George Whiting caught off the rocks!! Does it get any better!!?? Oh yeah, they also make their own Lamb chorizo which is to die for!

Kate amd Andy welcomed us with a combustion fire pumping out the heat from the lovely supply of Mallee roots and a bottle of wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return. Awesome views and very comfortable accommodation.
