Cape Raoul Trailhead Carpark

This is the starting point for the Cape Raoul walk. There's public toilet at the trailhead. It's about 5 hours return hike to Cape Raoul and it's about 3 hours return hike to Cape Raoul lookout. (If you walk fast you could do it in about 2 hours return) it's a relatively easy walk and the view is absolutely amazing. We spotted an wild echidna and a tiny snake along the way 🐍

It is a large carpark with plenty of space for different types of vehicles. There is information at the trailhead as well as a guest sign-in/out book

By the carpark there are bathrooms as well. Both the Cape Raoul and Shipstern Bluff hikes are nice. Great views on both!

An easy 1 hour walk through eucalyptus forest, culminating in a spectacular view of Cape Raoul

Just had a tour last weekend. Stromlea road, connecting to Nubeena road and CR trail head car park, upgrading is almost finished. Moderate improvements in car park area of the CR is on going. Nowadays, all visitors are not required or restricted to park their van/car 100m from the original car park. A bit of walking to main entrance of CR should not bother. Wheelchair access toilet is also available at the car park. You must register your name and information regarding your trekking to a register book at the entrance. This is important for security issue :). Shoes cleaning and pathogen spray are still available as well. make sure you use before entering to the forest. :P you should be cause of damaging forest, anyway we are still doing this things in other way. But obviously you should use those spray underneath your shoes. You must be equipped with basic or emergency needs, e.g. food, water, fast aid, because the total walking could take unto 6 hours depending on your speed. if you take Ship Stern Bluff, you could take 3 hours more for return.

Good carpark, easy to access only the last few kms are gravel and in really good condition. The carparks looks brand new. With long drop toilets. Really clean. The track is beautiful but can be very windy at the end. About 3h return. Better than the other cape in my opinion.

Beat hiking experienced in my life. I am not a bush walk fan. Suggest to get snacks along and plan early so can return in broad day light.

This was a well maintained track and we enjoyed it immensely. Managed to see a few seals and a migrating whale.

Good setup. Sadly not enough time to walk to the Cape. 2.5hrs each way.

Sehr abwechslungsreicher und interessanter Walk!
4-5 Stunden kommen auf alle Fälle hin bei einem durchschnittlichen Gehtempo.
Oben kann es sehr stürmig sein... Windbreaker würde ich empfehlen.
Am zweiten Lookout (Seal Lookout) sieht man in der Ferne die Robben.
Auf dem gesamten Weg haben wir mehrere Echidnas und eine Schlange gesehen.
