Excellent collection !! Good history of the factory and memories ! Can’t believed there were 6000 employee working on site back in the old days and they’ve kept it well ! Helpful and friendly staff.

Great experience and even though I’ve been a few times now it was a nice surprise to be able to access the workshop. The sight and smell gives you a small window into scale of this factory. It’s a shame manufacturing isn’t what it used to be in Australia as this factory contributed so many valuable parts.
Cheap entry in my opinion for the quality of the collection.

EVERYONE needs to come here. It is excellent and I believe will get better. The details around the history of the site and the manufacturing that occurred here is great. The volunteers there really care about the information and what they are doing. It is done really well and is very interesting. The gun collection has is amazing in Itself but the history of manufacturing that occurred here is amazing. This was at one time the largest small arms manufacturing factory in the southern hemisphere. They have set up as many old pieces of machinery that they can and intend to get some of them working - this is an amazing piece of history and should be HERITAGE listed. A great visit for anyone - get out there - take your children, take your mother - take your wife.

Great collection with lots to look at, over 2 floors. Everything is labelled for your convenience so that you know what your looking at. If visiting in these colder months, rug up warm because it's an old cold building. Good gift shop too 👍

The museum shows the early history of showcasing Australia's firearm industry and walking through bought back memories of the various firearms that I used growing up and later in life. The whole tour was interesting and very informative, and more people should take the time to visit it.

This well appointed museum has a well presented story of the history of the site. The museum houses one of the largest collections of firearms and handguns. The large machine shop was undergoing extensive restoration at the time of our visit. I am excited to come back to see the work the museum is doing

This museum is only on 1% of the size of the full facility. The craftsmanship and attention to detail this place had is displayed through the exhibits and leaves you in absolute awe at the quality, quantity and differentness of all the things produced during its time. From sewing machines through to machine guns.

Highly recommend at least an hour. Talk to the staff too, they are up for some yarns.

Visited this museum on our way to Mudgee. We spent a couple of hours exploring a fantastic weapons collection and had an informative tour of the machinery with Renzo. The kids were fascinated by his stories and explanations.

I thought I'd done a review for Lithgow small arms factory! But I don't mind doing another one as it's such a great place to visit. It was closed on the day we were at the blue mountains so had to hire a car to go back the next day. A town that grew because of the factory. We travelled half way round the world to find the birthplace of some of the most famous arms of the world. It did make other items and the museum has made the most of the social history, which is what I like the most, so can't big this place up enough. The volunteers are amazing and knowledgeable. This place must stay as a place to visit to keep the town alive. It must not end up as a housing development! If I win the lottery this would be one if the first places I would donate to, to keep the museum alive.

An absolute must visit when in Lithgow, the history here is just amazing.
The factory produced so much more than firearms and war items, domestic items we use every day were also made here.
The ability of the factory to adapt to changing requirements and the high quality produced is a credit to those who worked there.

Friendly, helpful staff make it a great spot to visit.

Put it on your bucket list, and revisit history in the weapon making of yesteryear. The factory is still operating today. Museum is open to the public, making current weapons under contracts all over the world.

Well kept historical replicas and memorabilia of wars in which so many men fought, bled and perished to protect our way of life, homelands and families.
Thank you to all those folk who made sacrifices we can not even imagine.
