Clarkefield Railway Station

This is a well-preserved weatherboard and tin station building, with the platforms and grounds kept neat and tidy. The city-bound platform has plenty of shelter, but not so much - but still adequate - on platform one.

The brief interaction with a staff member demonstrated that customer service is alive and well.

This is a quiet station, that is often by-passed by express trains. It does have toilets, warm waiting rooms and an official person in the ticket office. NOTE - always double check which platform your destination departs from; often it is counterintuitive. There is also a book exchange in the waiting rooms. The only thing that prevents a 5 star rating is the lack of car parks.
There is also an occasionally connecting bus service to Romsey and Lancefield.
