Explorers Port Arthur

Had a lovely stay. Conveniently located near the entrance of the Port Arthur National Park and to a small shop. Steve and his wife put a lot of effort into maintaining the place and ensure that their guests have a nice stay. They took a lot of care, ensuring that we had everything we needed. The facilities were clean, the showers had shampoo, conditioner and soap. The rooms were comfortable, especially the beds that had heated blankets that were already turned on. Best night's sleep of my trip!

My Boyfriend and I stayed at the Explorers so we could look around the historical site last week, and Steve was amazing. He met us at the door when we arrived and had a chat with us like we were old friends! We had the whole place to ourselves and it truly felt like home. The rooms are set up like a main bedroom in a house would be, it’s so clean and well kept. Steve was there with breakfast for us in the morning and again we had such a great chat about so many different things. He was so helpful with information of what to see and do, very, very knowledgeable about the area. We could have stayed and talked for hours! I will DEFINITELY be staying here again when I go back to Port Arthur, and I will recommend anyone and every one to stay too! Thank you so much Steve for making us feel so at home 🙂

In addition to being a clean, comfortable accomodation in a great spot, the owners are lovely people. I got to Port Arthur with no accomodation booked, no cell service and dwindling hope on the place and they opened a room for me and helped me try to find a ride to Hobart when i missed the bus. They even were willing to lend me a torch for the evening.

Highly, highly recommended.

Perfect location if you want to explore Port Arthur, very clean and value for money. plus Robin was lovely. She gave us many tips and recommendations! Just be aware you’re will be close to a cimitery ..very suggestive especially if plan to go for the night ghost tour 😃

The hosts at Explorers Post Arthur really went above and beyond for us, giving us a lift down the road to our next stop when we had a lot of luggage with us! They were very friendly and very knowledgeable of the area, and were more than happy to answer any question or strike up a conversation about anything at all! You can really tell that they love their job - and it really makes a difference!
The building itself is very clean, shared bathroom facilities (separated by gender) also kept immaculate. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash provided. A fulfilling continental breakfast was also provided! Bedrooms are cozy, and include TVs, the beds even have heated blankets which is a nice touch during the cold nights!
Lastly, the location is central to everything in Port Arthur, including being right next door to the Port Arthur Historic Site, Pennicott Wilderness Journeys tour company, and the general store. You can't get more central than this!

Such friendly and welcoming staff. Highly recommend, great location being the closet accomadation to Port Arthur historic site. Clean environment with loads of information on hidden treasures. We will be using them again in the future 😊

My friend and I have a nice night at Explorers Port Arthur. Steve is very kindly~ I think we arrived too late…we lost too many view at Port Arthur.

Everything was great. Friendly manager, great local advice. Clean rooms. Tasty simple breakfast. Only problem was TV didn't have a signal.
